1 John 3:4-8

⁴ Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and ^(A)sin is lawlessness. ⁵ You know that He ^(B)appeared in order to ^(C)take away sins; and ^(D)in Him there is no sin. ⁶ No one who abides in Him ^(E)sins; no one who sins has seen Him or ^[a](F)knows Him. ^7 (G)Little children, make sure no one ^(H)deceives you; ^(I)the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; ⁸ the one who practices sin is ^(J)of the devil; for the devil ^[b]has sinned from the beginning. ^(K)The Son of God ^(L)appeared for this purpose, ^(M)to destroy the works of the devil.
