1 John 3:3-10

³ And everyone who has this ^(A)hope set on Him ^(B)purifies himself, just as He is pure.

⁴ Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and ^(C)sin is lawlessness. ⁵ You know that He ^(D)appeared in order to ^(E)take away sins; and ^(F)in Him there is no sin. ⁶ No one who remains in Him ^(G)sins continually; no one who sins continually has seen Him or ^[a](H)knows Him. ^7 (I)Little children, make sure no one ^(J)deceives you; ^(K)the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; ⁸ the one who practices sin is ^(L)of the devil; for the devil ^[b]has been sinning from the beginning. ^(M)The Son of God ^(N)appeared for this purpose, ^(O)to destroy the works of the devil. ⁹ No one who has been ^(P)born of God practices sin, because His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin continually, because he has been born of God. ¹⁰ By this the ^(Q)children of God and the ^(R)children of the devil are obvious: ^[c]anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who ^(S)does not love his ^(T)brother and sister.
