Itiwalag ang Kapatid na Gumagawa ng Masama
5 Karaniwang naiuulat sa akin na mayroong pakikiapid sa inyo. Ang isa sa inyo ay nakikisama sa asawa ng sarili niyang ama. Ito ay uri ng pakikiapid na hindi ginagawa maging ng mga Gentil.
2 Nagmamalaki pa kayo sa halip na magdalamhati upang maitiwalag sa inyong kalagitnaan ang gumawa nito. 3 Ito ay sapagkat wala ako sa inyo sa katawan ngunit ako ay nasa inyo sa espiritu. Kaya nga, nahatulan ko na ang gumawa ng bagay na ito gaya ng ako ay naririyan sa inyo. 4 Ginawa ko ito sa pangalan ng ating Panginoong Jesucristo, sa inyong pagtitipon, kasama ang aking espiritu, sa pamamagitan ng kapangyarihan ng ating Panginoong Jesucristo. 5 Ang hatol ko ay ibigay ninyo kay Satanas ang ganiyang tao para sa pagwasak ng kaniyang katawan. Ito ay upang maligtas ang kaniyang espiritu sa araw ng Panginoong Jesus.
6 Ang inyong pagyayabang ay hindi mabuti. Hindi ba ninyo nalalaman na ang kaunting pampaalsa ay nagpapaalsa sa buong masa ng harina? 7 Alisin nga ninyo ang lumang pampaalsa upang kayo ay maging bagong masa ng harina. Kayo nga ay tunay na walang pampaalsa dahil si Cristo, na siyang ating Paglagpas, ay inihain para sa atin. 8 Kaya nga, ipagdiriwang natin ang kapistahan hindi sa pamamagitan ng lumang pampaalsa. Hindi sa pampaalsa ng masamang hangarin o kasamaan, kundi sa pamamagitan ng tinapay na walang pampaalsa, na ito ay sa katapatan at sa katotohanan.
9 Isinulat ko sa inyo, sa aking liham na huwag kayong makikisama sa mga nakikiapid. 10 Hindi ko tinutukoy ang mga mapang-apid sa sanlibutang ito, o mga mapag-imbot, o mga sakim, o mga sumasamba sa diyos-diyosan. Kung sila ang tinutukoy ko, dapat na kayong umalis sa sanlibutang ito. 11 Sa halip, isinulat ko sa inyo na huwag kayong makikisama sa sinuman na tinatawag na kapatid kung siya ay nakikiapid, o mapag-imbot, o sumasamba sa diyos-diyosan, o mapanirang-puri, o manginginom ng alak, o kaya ay manunuba. Huwag kayong makikisama sa katulad nila, ni makikain man lang.
12 Kaya ano ang karapatan ko upang hatulan ko sila na nasa labas? Hindi ba ninyo hahatulan sila na nasa loob? 13 Sila na nasa labas ay hahatulan ng Diyos. Kaya nga, inyong itiwalag mula sa inyo ang taong masama.

Ang Hatol Laban sa Imoralidad
5 Sa katunayan ay may naiulat na may pakikiapid na nagaganap sa inyo, na ang isang lalaki ay nakikipisan sa asawa ng kanyang ama. Ang ganyang uri ng pakikiapid ay wala kahit sa mga pagano. 2 At nagyayabang pa kayo! Dapat sana'y nalungkot kayo, upang maitiwalag ninyo ang gumagawa nito? 3 Sapagkat kahit wala ako riyan sa katawan, ako'y kasama ninyo sa espiritu. Kaya't para na ring nasa harapan ninyo, humatol na ako sa gumawa ng bagay na ito. 4 Kapag kayo ay nagkakatipon kasama ang aking espiritu na taglay ang kapangyarihan ng ating Panginoong Jesus, sa pangalan ng ating Panginoong Jesus, 5 ibigay ninyo ang ganyang tao kay Satanas para sa ikawawasak ng laman, upang ang kanyang espiritu ay maligtas sa araw ng Panginoong Jesus. 6 Hindi tama ang inyong pagmamalaki. Hindi ba ninyo alam na ang kaunting pampaalsa ay nagpapaalsa sa buong masa? 7 Alisin ninyo ang lumang pampaalsa, upang kayo'y maging bagong masa, na talaga namang kayo'y walang pampaalsa. Sapagkat si Cristo na kordero ng ating paskuwa ay naialay na. 8 Kaya't magdiwang tayo ng pista, nang walang lumang pampaalsa, ni pampaalsa ng maruming pag-iisip at kasamaan. Sa halip, magdiwang tayo nang may tinapay ng kalinisan at katotohanan, isang tinapay na walang pampaalsa.
9 Sinabi ko sa inyo sa aking sulat na huwag kayong makikisama sa mga mapakiapid. 10 Hindi ko tinutukoy ang mga mapakiapid ng sanlibutang ito, o ang mga sakim at mga magnanakaw, o ang mga sumasamba sa diyus-diyosan; kung gayo'y kailangan ninyong lumabas ng daigdig. 11 Ngayon, isinusulat ko sa inyo na huwag kayong makisama sa kanino mang tinatawag na kapatid, kung siya'y mapakiapid, o sakim, o sumasamba sa diyus-diyosan, o mapanlait, o lasenggo, o magnanakaw—ni huwag kayong makisalo sa pagkain sa ganyang uri ng tao. 12 Ano ang karapatan kong humatol sa mga nasa labas? Hindi ba dapat hinahatulan ninyo ang mga nasa loob? 13 At ang Diyos ang hahatol sa mga nasa labas. “Palayasin ninyo mula sa inyo ang masamang tao.”

Immorality Defiles the Church
5 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even [a]named among the Gentiles—that a man has his father’s (A)wife! 2 (B)And you are [b]puffed up, and have not rather (C)mourned, that he who has done this deed might be taken away from among you. 3 (D)For I indeed, as absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged (as though I were present) him who has so done this deed. 4 In the (E)name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you are gathered together, along with my spirit, (F)with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5 (G)deliver such a one to (H)Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord [c]Jesus.
6 (I)Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that (J)a little leaven leavens the whole lump? 7 Therefore [d]purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed (K)Christ, our (L)Passover, was sacrificed [e]for us. 8 Therefore (M)let us keep the feast, (N)not with old leaven, nor (O)with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
Immorality Must Be Judged
9 I wrote to you in my epistle (P)not to [f]keep company with sexually immoral people. 10 Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go (Q)out of the world. 11 But now I have written to you not to keep company (R)with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—(S)not even to eat with such a person.
12 For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? 13 But those who are outside God judges. Therefore (T)“put away from yourselves the evil person.”

Dealing With a Case of Incest
5 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that even pagans do not tolerate: A man is sleeping with his father’s wife.(A) 2 And you are proud! Shouldn’t you rather have gone into mourning(B) and have put out of your fellowship(C) the man who has been doing this? 3 For my part, even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit.(D) As one who is present with you in this way, I have already passed judgment in the name of our Lord Jesus(E) on the one who has been doing this. 4 So when you are assembled and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present, 5 hand this man over(F) to Satan(G) for the destruction of the flesh,[a][b] so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord.(H)
6 Your boasting is not good.(I) Don’t you know that a little yeast(J) leavens the whole batch of dough?(K) 7 Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.(L) 8 Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old bread leavened with malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread(M) of sincerity and truth.
9 I wrote to you in my letter not to associate(N) with sexually immoral people— 10 not at all meaning the people of this world(O) who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. 11 But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister[c](P) but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater(Q) or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.(R)
12 What business is it of mine to judge those outside(S) the church? Are you not to judge those inside?(T) 13 God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.”[d](U)
