2 ¿De qué me sirve comunicar mensajes de parte de Dios, penetrar todos los secretos y poseer la más profunda ciencia? ¿De qué me vale tener toda la fe que se precisa para mover montañas? Si me falta el amor, no soy nada. 3 ¿De qué me sirve desprenderme de todos mis bienes, e incluso entregar mi cuerpo a las llamas? Si me falta el amor, de nada me aprovecha.
4 El amor es comprensivo y servicial;
el amor nada sabe de envidias,
de jactancias, ni de orgullos.

2 If I have the gift of prophecy(A) and can fathom all mysteries(B) and all knowledge,(C) and if I have a faith(D) that can move mountains,(E) but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor(F) and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[a](G) but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient,(H) love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.(I)
