¹⁶ Don’t you yourselves know that you are God’s temple^(A) and that the Spirit of God lives in you?^(B)

¹⁶ And what agreement does the temple of God have with idols?^(A) For we^[a] are the temple of the living God, as God said:

²¹ In him the whole building, being put together,^(A) grows into a holy temple in the Lord.^{(B) 22} In him you are also being built together^(C) for God’s dwelling^(D) in the Spirit.

⁵ you yourselves, as living stones, a spiritual house, are being built to be a holy priesthood^[a] to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God^(A) through Jesus Christ.

¹⁷ For the time has come for judgment^(A) to begin with God’s household,^(B) and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who disobey the gospel of God?
