⁵³ For the perishable^(A) must clothe itself with the imperishable,^(B) and the mortal with immortality.

⁵⁴ When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”^[a](A)

¹⁰ but it has now been revealed^(A) through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus,^(B) who has destroyed death^(C) and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
