¹⁸ Then also the ones having fallen-asleep in Christ perished^[a]. ¹⁹ If we are ones having hoped in Christ in this life only, we are more pitiable^[b] than all people.

But Christ Has Been Raised As The Firstfruit of Those Yet To Be Raised

²⁰ But now, Christ has been raised from the dead— the firstfruit^[c] of the ones having fallen-asleep.
