The Excellence of Love

13 If I speak with the ^(A)tongues of mankind and of ^(B)angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a ^(C)clanging cymbal.

^14 [a]As a result, we are ^(A)no longer to be children, ^(B)tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of people, by ^(C)craftiness ^[b]in ^(D)deceitful scheming; ¹⁵ but ^[c]speaking the truth ^(E)in love, ^[d]we are to ^(F)grow up in all aspects into Him who is the ^(G)head, that is, Christ,

¹⁵ but ^[a]sanctify ^(A)Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready ^(B)to make a ^[b]defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the ^(C)hope that is in you, but ^(D)with gentleness and ^(E)respect;
