¹⁵ so that no one can say you were baptised in my name. ¹⁶ I did, in fact, baptise the household^(A) of Stephanas;^(B) beyond that, I don’t recall whether I baptised anyone else. ¹⁷ For Christ did not send me to baptise, but to preach the gospel – not with eloquent wisdom, so that the cross^(C) of Christ will not be emptied of its effect.
