² Now for the house of my God I have prepared with all my might: gold for things to be made of gold, silver for things of silver, bronze for things of bronze, iron for things of iron, wood for things of wood, ^(A)onyx stones, stones to be set, glistening stones of various colors, all kinds of precious stones, and marble slabs in abundance.

³ And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails of the doors of the gates and for the joints, and bronze in abundance ^(A)beyond measure, ⁴ and cedar trees in abundance; for the ^(B)Sidonians and those from Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.

⁵ Now David said, ^(C)“Solomon my son is young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the Lord must be exceedingly magnificent, famous and glorious throughout all countries. I will now make preparation for it.” So David made abundant preparations before his death.

^10 (A)As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, ^(B)as good stewards of ^(C)the manifold grace of God. ^11 (D)If anyone speaks, let him speak as the ^[a]oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that ^(E)in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the ^[b]dominion forever and ever. Amen.

^23 (A)And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,

^10 (A)Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your ^(B)might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.

¹⁸ The construction of its wall was of jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass. ^19 (A)The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all kinds of precious stones: the first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, ²⁰ the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. ²¹ The twelve gates were twelve ^(B)pearls: each individual gate was of one pearl. ^(C)And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.

³ For I bear witness that according to their ability, yes, and beyond their ability, they were freely willing,
