² After David had finished sacrificing the burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, he blessed^(A) the people in the name of the Lord.

¹⁰ Then Jacob blessed^[a] Pharaoh^(A) and went out from his presence.

⁷ And without doubt the lesser is blessed by the greater.

The Ascension of Jesus

⁵⁰ When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany,^(A) he lifted up his hands and blessed them. ⁵¹ While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven.^(B)

²⁷ The priests and the Levites stood to bless^(A) the people, and God heard them, for their prayer reached heaven, his holy dwelling place.

¹⁸ Although most of the many people who came from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar and Zebulun had not purified themselves,^(A) yet they ate the Passover, contrary to what was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, “May the Lord, who is good, pardon everyone ¹⁹ who sets their heart on seeking God—the Lord, the God of their ancestors—even if they are not clean according to the rules of the sanctuary.” ²⁰ And the Lord heard^(B) Hezekiah and healed^(C) the people.^(D)

²⁹ When the offerings were finished, the king and everyone present with him knelt down and worshiped.^(A)

⁵⁵ He stood and blessed^(A) the whole assembly of Israel in a loud voice, saying:

¹⁸ After he had finished sacrificing^(A) the burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, he blessed^(B) the people in the name of the Lord Almighty.

⁶ Then Joshua blessed^(A) them and sent them away, and they went to their homes.
