The Seventh Trumpet
15 Then (A)the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and (B)there were loud voices in heaven, saying, (C)“The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of (D)his Christ, and (E)he shall reign forever and ever.” 16 And the twenty-four elders (F)who sit on their thrones before God (G)fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying,
“We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty,
(H)who is and who was,
for you have taken your great power
and (I)begun to reign.
18 The nations raged,
but (J)your wrath came,
and (K)the time for the dead to be judged,
and for rewarding your servants, the prophets and saints,
and (L)those who fear your name,
both small and great,
and (M)for destroying the destroyers of the earth.”

The Reign of the Lord's Anointed
2 (A)Why do (B)the nations rage[a]
and the peoples plot in vain?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against his (C)Anointed, saying,
3 “Let us (D)burst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.”
4 He who (E)sits in the heavens (F)laughs;
the Lord holds them in derision.
5 Then he will speak to them in his (G)wrath,
and terrify them in his fury, saying,
6 “As for me, I have (H)set my King
on (I)Zion, my (J)holy hill.”

David Defeats the Philistines
17 When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over Israel, all the Philistines went up to search for David. But David heard of it and went down (A)to the stronghold. 18 Now the Philistines had come and spread out in (B)the Valley of Rephaim. 19 And David (C)inquired of the Lord, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you give them into my hand?” And the Lord said to David, “Go up, for I will certainly give the Philistines into your hand.” 20 And David came to Baal-perazim, and David defeated them there. And he said, “The Lord has broken through my enemies before me like a breaking flood.” (D)Therefore the name of that place is called Baal-perazim.[a] 21 And the Philistines left their idols there, and David and his men carried them away.
22 And the Philistines came up yet again (E)and spread out in the Valley of Rephaim. 23 (F)And when David inquired of the Lord, he said, “You shall not go up; go around to their rear, and come against them opposite the balsam trees. 24 And (G)when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, then rouse yourself, (H)for then the Lord has gone out before you to strike down the army of the Philistines.” 25 And David did as the Lord commanded him, and struck down the Philistines from Geba (I)to Gezer.
