37 Jerusalem! Jerusalem! som ihjelslår Profeterne og stener dem, som ere sendte til dig, hvor ofte vilde jeg samle dine Børn, ligesom en Høne samler sine Kyllinger under Vingerne! Og I vilde ikke. 38 Se, eders Hus lades eder øde! 39 Thi jeg siger eder: I skulle ingenlunde se mig fra nu af, indtil I sige: Velsignet være den, som kommer, i Herrens Navn!"

37 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you,(A) how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings,(B) and you were not willing. 38 Look, your house is left to you desolate.(C) 39 For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’[a]”(D)
