25 La parola dell'Eterno mi fu rivolta, dicendo:
2 «Figlio d'uomo, volgi la tua faccia verso i figli di Ammon e profetizza contro di loro.
3 Di' ai figli di Ammon: Ascoltate la parola del Signore, dell'Eterno: Cosí dice il Signore. l'Eterno: Poiché tu hai detto: "ah, ah", contro il mio santuario quando è stato profanato, contro il paese d'Israele quando è stato desolato e contro la casa di Giuda quando è andata in cattività,
4 perciò ecco, io ti do in possesso dei figli dell'est, ed essi metteranno i loro accampamenti in mezzo a te e stabiliranno in mezzo a te le loro dimore; essi mangeranno i tuoi frutti e berranno il tuo latte.
5 Io farò di Rabbah un recinto per cammelli e del paese dei figli di Ammon un ovile per le pecore; allora riconoscerai che io sono l'Eterno».
6 Per questo cosí dice il Signore, l'Eterno: «Poiché tu hai battuto le mani e pestato i piedi e hai gioito nel cuore con tutto il tuo disprezzo per il paese d'Israele.
7 perciò ecco, io stendo la mia mano contro di te e ti darò come bottino alle nazioni, ti sterminerò dai popoli e ti farò sparire dal numero dei paesi; ti distruggerò, cosí riconoscerai che io sono l'Eterno».
8 Così dice il Signore, l'Eterno: «Poiché Moab, e Seir dicono: Ecco, la casa di Giuda è come tutte le altre nazioni
9 perciò ecco, io aprirò il fianco di Moab dal lato delle città, dal lato delle città che stanno ai suoi confini, lo splendore del paese, Beth-Jescimoth, Baalmeon e Kirjathaim.
10 Lo darò quindi in possesso ai figli dell'est, assieme ai figli di Ammon, affinché i figli di Ammon non siano piú ricordati fra le nazioni.
11 Cosí eseguirò i miei giudizi su Moab ed essi riconosceranno che io sono l'Eterno».
12 Cosí dice il Signore, l'Eterno: «Per ciò che Edom ha fatto contro la casa di Giuda, compiendo vendetta, e perché si è reso grandemente colpevole vendicandosi di essa»,
13 cosí dice il Signore, l'Eterno: «Io stenderò la mia mano contro Edom ne sterminerò uomini e bestie e lo renderò una desolazione; da Theman fino a Dedan cadranno per la spada.
14 Compirò la mia vendetta su Edom per mezzo del mio popolo d'Israele, che tratterà Edom secondo la mia ira e secondo il mio furore; cosí essi conosceranno la mia vendetta» dice il Signore, l'Eterno.
15 Cosi dice il Signore, l'Eterno: «Poiché i Filistei sono stati vendicativi e hanno compiuto vendetta col cuore pieno di disprezzo per distruggere, mossi da un'antica inimicizia»,
16 perciò cosí dice il Signore, l'Eterno: «Ecco, io stenderò la mia mano contro i Filistei, sterminerò i Kerethei e distruggerò il resto della costa del mare.
17 Compirò su di loro una grande vendetta con castighi furiosi; e riconosceranno che io sono l'Eterno, quando compirò su di loro la mia vendetta».

A Prophecy Against Ammon
25 The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, set your face against(A) the Ammonites(B) and prophesy against them.(C) 3 Say to them, ‘Hear the word of the Sovereign Lord. This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because you said “Aha!(D)” over my sanctuary when it was desecrated(E) and over the land of Israel when it was laid waste and over the people of Judah when they went into exile,(F) 4 therefore I am going to give you to the people of the East(G) as a possession. They will set up their camps(H) and pitch their tents among you; they will eat your fruit and drink your milk.(I) 5 I will turn Rabbah(J) into a pasture for camels and Ammon into a resting place for sheep.(K) Then you will know that I am the Lord. 6 For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because you have clapped your hands(L) and stamped your feet, rejoicing with all the malice of your heart against the land of Israel,(M) 7 therefore I will stretch out my hand(N) against you and give you as plunder(O) to the nations. I will wipe you out from among the nations and exterminate you from the countries. I will destroy(P) you, and you will know that I am the Lord.(Q)’”
A Prophecy Against Moab
8 “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: ‘Because Moab(R) and Seir(S) said, “Look, Judah has become like all the other nations,” 9 therefore I will expose the flank of Moab, beginning at its frontier towns—Beth Jeshimoth(T), Baal Meon(U) and Kiriathaim(V)—the glory of that land. 10 I will give Moab along with the Ammonites to the people of the East as a possession, so that the Ammonites will not be remembered(W) among the nations; 11 and I will inflict punishment on Moab. Then they will know that I am the Lord.’”(X)
A Prophecy Against Edom
12 “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: ‘Because Edom(Y) took revenge on Judah and became very guilty by doing so, 13 therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will stretch out my hand(Z) against Edom and kill both man and beast.(AA) I will lay it waste, and from Teman(AB) to Dedan(AC) they will fall by the sword.(AD) 14 I will take vengeance on Edom by the hand of my people Israel, and they will deal with Edom in accordance with my anger(AE) and my wrath; they will know my vengeance, declares the Sovereign Lord.’”(AF)
A Prophecy Against Philistia
15 “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: ‘Because the Philistines(AG) acted in vengeance and took revenge with malice(AH) in their hearts, and with ancient hostility sought to destroy Judah, 16 therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am about to stretch out my hand against the Philistines,(AI) and I will wipe out the Kerethites(AJ) and destroy those remaining along the coast.(AK) 17 I will carry out great vengeance(AL) on them and punish(AM) them in my wrath. Then they will know that I am the Lord,(AN) when I take vengeance on them.(AO)’”

Proclamation Against Ammon
25 The word of the Lord came to me, saying, 2 “Son of man, (A)set your face (B)against the Ammonites, and prophesy against them. 3 Say to the Ammonites, ‘Hear the word of the Lord God! Thus says the Lord God: (C)“Because you said, ‘Aha!’ against My sanctuary when it was profaned, and against the land of Israel when it was desolate, and against the house of Judah when they went into captivity, 4 indeed, therefore, I will deliver you as a possession to the [a]men of the East, and they shall set their encampments among you and make their dwellings among you; they shall eat your fruit, and they shall drink your milk. 5 And I will make (D)Rabbah (E)a stable for camels and Ammon a resting place for flocks. (F)Then you shall know that I am the Lord.”
6 ‘For thus says the Lord God: “Because you (G)clapped your hands, stamped your feet, and (H)rejoiced in heart with all your disdain for the land of Israel, 7 indeed, therefore, I will (I)stretch out My hand against you, and give you as plunder to the nations; I will cut you off from the peoples, and I will cause you to perish from the countries; I will destroy you, and you shall know that I am the Lord.”
Proclamation Against Moab
8 ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Because (J)Moab and (K)Seir say, ‘Look! The house of Judah is like all the nations,’ 9 therefore, behold, I will clear the territory of Moab of cities, of the cities on its frontier, the glory of the country, Beth Jeshimoth, Baal Meon, and (L)Kirjathaim. 10 (M)To the men of the East I will give it as a possession, together with the Ammonites, that the Ammonites (N)may not be remembered among the nations. 11 And I will execute judgments upon Moab, and they shall know that I am the Lord.”
Proclamation Against Edom
12 ‘Thus says the Lord God: (O)“Because of what Edom did against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and has greatly offended by avenging itself on them,” 13 therefore thus says the Lord God: “I will also stretch out My hand against Edom, cut off man and beast from it, and make it desolate from Teman; [b]Dedan shall fall by the sword. 14 (P)I will lay My vengeance on Edom by the hand of My people Israel, that they may do in Edom according to My anger and according to My fury; and they shall know My vengeance,” says the Lord God.
Proclamation Against Philistia
15 ‘Thus says the Lord God: (Q)“Because (R)the Philistines dealt vengefully and took vengeance with [c]a spiteful heart, to destroy because of the [d]old hatred,” 16 therefore thus says the Lord God: (S)“I will stretch out My hand against the Philistines, and I will cut off the (T)Cherethites (U)and destroy the remnant of the seacoast. 17 I will (V)execute great vengeance on them with furious rebukes; (W)and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I lay My vengeance upon them.” ’ ”
