성도는 하나님의 집
3 그러므로 함께 하나님의 부르심을 받은 거룩한 형제 여러분, 우리가 고백하 는 신앙의 사도이시며 대제사장이신 예수님을 깊이 생각하십시오.
2 모세가 하나님의 집에서 충성했던 것과 같이 예수님도 자기를 보내신 하나님께 충성하셨습니다.
3 집을 세운 사람이 그 집보다 더 존귀한 것처럼 예수님은 모세보다 더 큰 영광을 받으실 만합니다.
4 어느 집이든 그 집을 세운 사람이 있듯이 모든 것을 창조하신 분은 하나님이십니다.
5 모세는 하나님께서 장차 말씀하실 것을 증거하기 위해 하나님의 온 집에서 종으로 충성하였으나
6 그리스도는 하나님의 집을 맡은 아들로 충성하셨습니다. 만일 우리가 희망으로 인한 용기와 자랑스러운 기쁨을 끝까지 굳게 지키면 우리는 곧 하나님의 집입니다.
7 그래서 성령님도 이렇게 말씀하십니다. [a]“오늘 너희가 그의 음성을 듣거든
8 광야에서 시험할 당시 반역하던 때처럼 못된 고집을 부리지 말아라.
9 거기서 너희 조상들이 나를 떠보고 시험하였으며 40년 동안 내가 하는 일을 보았다.
10 그래서 내가 그들에게 노하여 ‘그들의 마음은 언제나 미혹되어 내 길을 알지 못하였다’ 하였고
11 또 내가 분노하여 ‘그들은 안식처가 될 약속의 땅에 들어오지 못할 것이다’ 라고 선언하였다.”
고집 센 마음
12 형제 여러분, 여러분 가운데서 믿지 않는 악한 마음을 품고 살아 계신 하나님을 떠나가는 사람이 생기지 않도록 조심하십시오.
13 여러분은 ‘오늘’ 이라는 시간이 있을 동안에 매일 서로 권면하여 아무도 죄의 유혹으로 못된 고집을 부리지 않게 하십시오.
14 우리가 처음에 가졌던 확신을 끝까지 지키면 모든 것을 그리스도와 함께 누리게 될 것입니다.
15 성경에서는 [b]“오늘 너희가 그의 음성을 듣거든 반역하던 때처럼 못된 고집을 부리지 말아라” 고 하였습니다.
16 말씀을 듣고도 하나님을 노엽게 한 사람이 누구였습니까? 모세를 따라 이집트에서 나온 모든 사람들이 아니었습니까?
17 또 하나님께서 40년 동안 누구에게 노하셨습니까? 죄를 짓고 광야에서 쓰러져 죽은 사람들이 아니었습니까?
18 그리고 하나님께서 안식처가 될 약속의 땅에 들어가지 못할 것이라고 누구에게 엄숙한 선언을 하셨습니까? 이것은 불순종한 사람들에게 하신 말씀이 아니었습니까?
19 그래서 우리는 그들이 믿지 않았기 때문에 약속의 땅에 들어가지 못한 것을 알 수 있습니다.

예수는 모세보다 더 위대하시다
3 그러니 하나님의 부르심을 함께 받은 거룩한 형제자매 여러분, 예수에 대해 깊이 생각하십시오. 그분은 우리가 사도이며 대제사장[a]이라고 고백하는 분이십니다. 2 예수께서는 모세가 하나님의 온 집을 위해 성실하게 일했던 것처럼, 당신을 세우신 하나님께 충실하셨습니다. 3 집을 지은 사람이 그 집보다 더 존귀합니다. 그러므로 예수께서는 모세보다 더 큰 영광을 받으실 자격이 있으십니다. 4 모든 집은 그것을 지은 사람이 있게 마련입니다. 그런데 모든 것을 지으신 분은 하나님이십니다. 5 모세는 종으로서 하나님의 온 집에 성실하였으며, 장차 하나님께서 말씀하시려는 것을 증언하였습니다. 6 그러나 그리스도께서는 아들로서 하나님의 온 집을 다스리는 데 성실하셨습니다. 우리가 용기와 소망을 굳게 붙들고 있으면, 우리는 하나님의 집입니다. 그 소망은 우리가 자랑스럽게 여기는 것입니다.
우리는 계속 하나님을 따라야 한다
7 그래서 성령께서 이렇게 말씀하십니다.
“오늘 너희가 그분의 음성을 듣거든
8 너희는 무디고 고집스러운 마음을 품지 말아라.
너희는 광야에서 시험을 받던 때에
나에게 반역하여 그런 마음을 품었었다.
9 그곳에서 너희의 조상들은
사십 년 동안이나
내가 하는 놀라운 일들을 보고도
나를 시험하고 떠보려 하였다.
10 그 때문에 나는 그 세대 사람들에게 화가 나서
이렇게 말하였다.
‘그들은 마음이 비뚤어져 언제나 딴 길로만 가고
내 길은 알지도 못한다.’
11 나는 화가 나서 맹세까지 하며 선포하였다.
‘그들은 결코 나의 안식에 들지 못할 것이다.’”(A)
12 그러니 형제자매 여러분, 여러분 가운데 믿지 않는 악한 마음을 가지고 살아 계신 하나님을 떠나려는 사람이 없도록 조심하십시오. 13 날마다 서로 용기를 북돋아 주십시오. 아직은 ‘오늘’[b]이라고 말할 수 있는 지금 그렇게 하십시오. 그리하여 여러분 가운데 어느 누구도 죄의 속임수에 넘어가 무디고 고집스러운 사람이 되는 일이 없도록 하십시오. 14 우리가 처음 믿을 때에 가졌던 확신을 끝까지 굳게 지키면, 우리는 하나님께서 약속하신 복을 그리스도와 함께 나누어 받게 될 것이기 때문입니다. 15 성경[c]에 이런 말씀이 있습니다.
“오늘
너희가 그분의 음성을 듣거든
반역했던 그 사람들처럼
무디고 고집스러운 마음을 품지 말아라.”(B)
16 그런데 그 말씀을 듣고도 반역을 한 것이 누구였습니까? 모세가 이집트에서 데리고 나온 사람들 모두가 아니었습니까? 17 그리고 하나님께서 사십 년 동안 누구에게 화를 내셨습니까? 죄를 짓고, 그 몸이 죽어 광야에 쓰러진 사람들 모두에게 화를 내신 것 아닙니까? 18 하나님께서 누구에게 당신께서 약속하신 안식에 결코 들어오지 못하리라고 맹세하셨습니까? 하나님께 복종하지 않은 사람들에게 하신 것이 아닙니까? 19 그러니 우리는 그들이 믿지 않았기 때문에 안식처로 들어가지 못했다는 것을 알 수 있습니다.

3 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.
3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.
4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.
5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;
6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)
12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Isus veći od Mojsija
3 Zato, braćo sveta, sudionici nebeskoga poziva, promotrite Apostola i Velesvećenika našeg vjeroispovijedanja, Isusa, 2 koji je vjeran Onomu koji ga postavi, kao i Mojsije »u svoj kući Njegovoj«.[a] 3 Jer on je dostojan toliko veće slave od Mojsija koliko veću čast od kuće ima onaj tko ju je sagradio. 4 Doista, svaku kuću netko gradi, a sve je sagradio Bog. 5 Doduše, i Mojsije bijaše vjeran u njegovoj kući kao služnik, za svjedočanstvo onome što je imalo biti rečeno; 6 ali je Krist kao sin nad kućom njegovom. Njegova smo kuća mi, samo ako održimo smjelost i ponos nade.[b]
Ne otvrdnite svoja srca
7 Zato, kao što govori Duh Sveti:
»Danas, ako čujete njegov glas,
8 ne otvrdnite svoja srca kao u onoj pobuni,
u dan kušnje u pustinji,
9 gdje me vaši očevi ispitivanjem iskušaše
premda su gledali moja djela
10 četrdeset godina.
Zato se rasrdih na onaj naraštaj
i rekoh:
'Uvijek su oni srca zabludjela
i sami ne upoznaše mojih putova.'
11 Tako se u svojemu gnjevu zakleh:
'Nikada neće ući u moj počinak!'«
12 Pazite, braćo, da ni u koga od vas srce ne bude iskvareno nevjerom, koje se odmetnulo od Boga živoga. 13 Nego, bodrite jedni druge danomice dok se još čuje to »danas«, da koji od vas ne otvrdne zavarljivošću grijeha. 14 Doista, sudionici smo Kristovi postali samo ako onu prvu stvarnost održimo stalnom sve do svršetka. 15 Kao u onome rečenom: »Danas, ako čujete njegov glas, ne otvrdnite svoja srca kao u onoj pobuni.« 16 Jer koji su to što su čuli pa se pobunili? Zar ne svi oni što pod Mojsijem izađoše iz Egipta? 17 A na koje se On to srdio četrdeset godina? Nije li na one koji sagriješiše, kojih tjelesa popadaše u pustinji? 18 Kojima se pak zakle da neće ući u njegov počinak ako li ne onima nepokornima? 19 I vidimo da nisu mogli ući zbog nevjere.

Jesus Greater Than Moses
3 Therefore, holy brothers and sisters,(A) who share in the heavenly calling,(B) fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge(C) as our apostle and high priest.(D) 2 He was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was faithful in all God’s house.(E) 3 Jesus has been found worthy of greater honor than Moses,(F) just as the builder of a house has greater honor than the house itself. 4 For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.(G) 5 “Moses was faithful as a servant(H) in all God’s house,”[a](I) bearing witness to what would be spoken by God in the future. 6 But Christ is faithful as the Son(J) over God’s house. And we are his house,(K) if indeed we hold firmly(L) to our confidence and the hope(M) in which we glory.
Warning Against Unbelief
7 So, as the Holy Spirit says:(N)
“Today, if you hear his voice,
8 do not harden your hearts(O)
as you did in the rebellion,
during the time of testing in the wilderness,
9 where your ancestors tested and tried me,
though for forty years they saw what I did.(P)
10 That is why I was angry with that generation;
I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray,
and they have not known my ways.’
11 So I declared on oath in my anger,(Q)
‘They shall never enter my rest.’ (R)”[b](S)
12 See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.(T) 13 But encourage one another daily,(U) as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.(V) 14 We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold(W) our original conviction firmly to the very end.(X) 15 As has just been said:
16 Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt?(Z) 17 And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies perished in the wilderness?(AA) 18 And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest(AB) if not to those who disobeyed?(AC) 19 So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief.(AD)
