13 耶和华对我如此说：“你去买一根麻布带子束腰，不可放在水中。” 2 我就照着耶和华的话，买了一根带子束腰。 3 耶和华的话第二次临到我说： 4 “要拿着你所买的腰带，就是你腰上的带子，起来往幼发拉底河去，将腰带藏在那里的磐石穴中。” 5 我就去，照着耶和华所吩咐我的，将腰带藏在幼发拉底河边。 6 过了多日，耶和华对我说：“你起来往幼发拉底河去，将我吩咐你藏在那里的腰带取出来。” 7 我就往幼发拉底河去，将腰带从我所藏的地方刨出来，见腰带已经变坏，毫无用了。
8 耶和华的话临到我说： 9 “耶和华如此说：我必照样败坏犹大的骄傲和耶路撒冷的大骄傲。 10 这恶民不肯听我的话，按自己顽梗的心而行，随从别神，侍奉敬拜，他们也必像这腰带变为无用。 11 耶和华说：腰带怎样紧贴人腰，照样，我也使以色列全家和犹大全家紧贴我，好叫他们属我为子民，使我得名声，得颂赞，得荣耀，他们却不肯听。

12 “所以你要对他们说：‘耶和华以色列的神如此说：各坛都要盛满了酒。’他们必对你说：‘我们岂不确知各坛都要盛满了酒呢？’ 13 你就要对他们说：‘耶和华如此说：我必使这地的一切居民，就是坐大卫宝座的君王，和祭司与先知，并耶路撒冷的一切居民，都酩酊大醉。 14 耶和华说：我要使他们彼此相碰，就是父与子彼此相碰。我必不可怜，不顾惜，不怜悯，以致灭绝他们。’”

15 你们当听，当侧耳而听，不要骄傲，因为耶和华已经说了。 16 耶和华你们的神未使黑暗来到，你们的脚未在昏暗山上绊跌之先，当将荣耀归给他，免得你们盼望光明，他使光明变为死荫成为幽暗。 17 你们若不听这话，我必因你们的骄傲在暗地哭泣，我眼必痛哭流泪，因为耶和华的群众被掳去了。

13 Thus the Lord said to me: “Go and get yourself a linen sash, and put it [a]around your waist, but do not put it in water.” 2 So I got a [b]sash according to the word of the Lord, and put it around my waist.
3 And the word of the Lord came to me the second time, saying, 4 “Take the [c]sash that you acquired, which is [d]around your waist, and arise, go to the [e]Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole in the rock.” 5 So I went and hid it by the Euphrates, as the Lord commanded me.
6 Now it came to pass after many days that the Lord said to me, “Arise, go to the Euphrates, and take from there the sash which I commanded you to hide there.” 7 Then I went to the Euphrates and dug, and I took the [f]sash from the place where I had hidden it; and there was the sash, ruined. It was profitable for nothing.
8 Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 9 “Thus says the Lord: ‘In this manner (A)I will ruin the pride of Judah and the great (B)pride of Jerusalem. 10 This evil people, who (C)refuse to hear My words, who (D)follow[g] the dictates of their hearts, and walk after other gods to serve them and worship them, shall be just like this sash which is profitable for nothing. 11 For as the sash clings to the waist of a man, so I have caused the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah to cling to Me,’ says the Lord, ‘that (E)they may become My people, (F)for renown, for praise, and for (G)glory; but they would (H)not hear.’

12 “Therefore you shall speak to them this word: ‘Thus says the Lord God of Israel: “Every bottle shall be filled with wine.” ’
“And they will say to you, ‘Do we not certainly know that every bottle will be filled with wine?’
13 “Then you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land—even the kings who sit on David’s throne, the priests, the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem—(I)with drunkenness! 14 And (J)I will dash them [h]one against another, even the fathers and the sons together,” says the Lord. “I will not pity nor spare nor have mercy, but will destroy them.” ’ ”
Pride Precedes Captivity
15 Hear and give ear:
Do not be proud,
For the Lord has spoken.
16 (K)Give glory to the Lord your God
Before He causes (L)darkness,
And before your feet stumble
On the dark mountains,
And while you are (M)looking for light,
He turns it into (N)the shadow of death
And makes it dense darkness.
17 But if you will not hear it,
My soul will (O)weep in secret for your pride;
My eyes will weep bitterly
And run down with tears,
Because the Lord’s flock has been taken captive.
18 Say to (P)the king and to the queen mother,
“Humble yourselves;
Sit down,
For your rule shall collapse, the crown of your glory.”
19 The cities of the South shall be shut up,
And no one shall open them;
Judah shall be carried away captive, all of it;
It shall be wholly carried away captive.
20 Lift up your eyes and see
Those who come from the (Q)north.
Where is the flock that was given to you,
Your beautiful sheep?
21 What will you say when He punishes you?
For you have taught them
To be chieftains, to be head over you.
Will not (R)pangs seize you,
Like a woman in [i]labor?
22 And if you say in your heart,
(S)“Why have these things come upon me?”
For the greatness of your iniquity
(T)Your skirts have been uncovered,
Your heels [j]made bare.
23 Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard its spots?
Then may you also do good who are accustomed to do evil.
24 “Therefore I will (U)scatter them (V)like stubble
That passes away by the wind of the wilderness.
25 (W)This is your lot,
The portion of your measures from Me,” says the Lord,
“Because you have forgotten Me
And trusted in (X)falsehood.
26 Therefore (Y)I will uncover your skirts over your face,
That your shame may appear.
27 I have seen your adulteries
And your lustful (Z)neighings,
The lewdness of your harlotry,
Your abominations (AA)on the hills in the fields.
Woe to you, O Jerusalem!
Will you still not be made clean?”

13 Thus saith the Lord unto me, Go and get thee a linen girdle, and put it upon thy loins, and put it not in water.
2 So I got a girdle according to the word of the Lord, and put it on my loins.
3 And the word of the Lord came unto me the second time, saying,
4 Take the girdle that thou hast got, which is upon thy loins, and arise, go to Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock.
5 So I went, and hid it by Euphrates, as the Lord commanded me.
6 And it came to pass after many days, that the Lord said unto me, Arise, go to Euphrates, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.
7 Then I went to Euphrates, and digged, and took the girdle from the place where I had hid it: and, behold, the girdle was marred, it was profitable for nothing.
8 Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
9 Thus saith the Lord, After this manner will I mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.
10 This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.
11 For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the Lord; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.
12 Therefore thou shalt speak unto them this word; Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Every bottle shall be filled with wine: and they shall say unto thee, Do we not certainly know that every bottle shall be filled with wine?
13 Then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings that sit upon David's throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.
14 And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the Lord: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them.
15 Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the Lord hath spoken.
16 Give glory to the Lord your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.
17 But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the Lord's flock is carried away captive.
18 Say unto the king and to the queen, Humble yourselves, sit down: for your principalities shall come down, even the crown of your glory.
19 The cities of the south shall be shut up, and none shall open them: Judah shall be carried away captive all of it, it shall be wholly carried away captive.
20 Lift up your eyes, and behold them that come from the north: where is the flock that was given thee, thy beautiful flock?
21 What wilt thou say when he shall punish thee? for thou hast taught them to be captains, and as chief over thee: shall not sorrows take thee, as a woman in travail?
22 And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things upon me? For the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts discovered, and thy heels made bare.
23 Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.
24 Therefore will I scatter them as the stubble that passeth away by the wind of the wilderness.
25 This is thy lot, the portion of thy measures from me, saith the Lord; because thou hast forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood.
26 Therefore will I discover thy skirts upon thy face, that thy shame may appear.
27 I have seen thine adulteries, and thy neighings, the lewdness of thy whoredom, and thine abominations on the hills in the fields. Woe unto thee, O Jerusalem! wilt thou not be made clean? when shall it once be?

La señal del cinturón
13 Esto es lo que me dijo el SEÑOR:
«Jeremías, ve y cómprate un cinturón de lino, colócatelo en la cintura y no te la quites nunca, ni para lavarla».
2 Así que compré el cinturón tal como el SEÑOR me había dicho y me lo coloqué en la cintura. 3 Luego, el SEÑOR me dio un segundo mensaje: 4 «Toma el cinturón que compraste y que llevas en la cintura, ve a Perat[a] y escóndelo allí en una roca». 5 Así que fui y lo escondí en Perat, tal como me lo había ordenado el SEÑOR.
6 Después de mucho tiempo, el SEÑOR me dijo: «Levántate, y ve a Perat y toma el cinturón que te ordené que escondieras». 7 Así que fui a Perat, cavé y saqué el cinturón del lugar donde lo había escondido. El cinturón ya estaba podrido y no servía para nada.
8 Entonces el SEÑOR me dio este mensaje: 9 «Así como destruí este cinturón, destruiré el esplendor de Judá y de Jerusalén, 10 pueblo perverso que se niega a escuchar mis palabras y que se guía por la terquedad de su corazón perverso. Se ha ido tras otros dioses para servirlos y adorarlos; es como este cinturón que no sirve para nada. 11 Así como uno se ajusta el cinturón a la cintura, así hice que todo el pueblo de Israel y de Judá se ajustara a mí, dice el SEÑOR. Yo quería que ellos fueran mi pueblo y me dieran fama, honor y gloria, pero no me obedecieron.

12 »Diles también lo siguiente: “Esto dice el SEÑOR, Dios de Israel: Toda jarra debe llenarse de vino. Y ellos te dirán: ¡Pues claro que sabemos que toda jarra debe llenarse de vino! 13 Y tú les dirás que esto dice el SEÑOR: Voy a embriagar a todos los habitantes de este país; a los reyes que se sientan en el trono de David, a los sacerdotes, a los profetas y a todos los habitantes de Jerusalén. 14 Haré que se hagan pedazos unos a otros, padres e hijos por igual. No habrá nada que me impida destruirlos; lo haré sin compasión y no les tendré piedad ni lástima. Es la decisión del SEÑOR”».
Advertencia a tiempo
15 ¡Escuchen y atiéndame!
No sean arrogantes, el SEÑOR habla.
16 Da gloria al SEÑOR tu Dios
antes de que a la madrugada
tropiecen tus pies en las montañas.
Esperas la luz y se te vuelve tristeza.
Se convierte en densa oscuridad,
la luz esperas.
17 Pero si no escuchas
en secreto lloraré amargamente por tu orgullo.
Y mis ojos derramarán lágrimas
porque el rebaño del SEÑOR ha sido capturado.
18 Diles esto al rey y a la reina madre:
«Bajen de sus tronos y siéntense con el resto de la gente,
pues se les han caído de la cabeza sus hermosas coronas».
19 Las ciudades del Néguev están cerradas
y no hay nadie que las abra.
Todos los habitantes de Judá han sido expulsados de su tierra,
desterrados en su totalidad.
20 Levanten sus ojos y vean
a los que vienen del norte.
¿Dónde está el rebaño que te fue entregado,
aquel rebaño que era tu orgullo?
21 ¿Qué dirás cuándo él nombre como tus jefes
a aquellos a quienes tú misma enseñaste?
¿No te llenarás de un dolor tan grande
como el que siente una mujer que da a luz?
22 Y si te preguntas:
«¿Por qué me sucede esto?»
Pues por tus muchos pecados,
te alzaron la falda y te violaron.
23 ¿Puede el etíope cambiar el color de su piel?
¿Puede un leopardo cambiar sus manchas?
Así mismo, ustedes no pueden hacer el bien,
estando tan acostumbrados a hacer el mal.
24 «Los esparciré a ustedes por todas partes
como la paja que el viento del desierto se lleva lejos.
25 Eso es lo que te mereces,
lo que yo planeé para ti,
dice el SEÑOR.
Es por haberme olvidado
y por haber confiado en dioses falsos.
26 Yo también te alzaré la falda hasta cubrirte la cara
para exponerte a la vergüenza.
27 Yo lo he visto todo,
tus infidelidades, tus relinchos,
la vergüenza de tu prostitución en las colinas
y tus horribles pecados en los campos.
¡Pobre de ti, Jerusalén!
¿Cuánto tiempo seguirás siendo impura?»
