出於信的義

10 弟兄們，我心裡熱切盼望，並替以色列人[a]向神祈求，是為了他們的救恩。 2 我見證他們對神有熱心，但不是按著真正的認識。 3 就是說，他們不明白神的義，想要確立自己的義，就不服從神的義了。 4 事實上，基督是律法的終結，使所有相信的人都以致稱義。 5 原來，有關出於律法的義，摩西寫道：「遵行這些事的人，將因此而活」[b]； 6 而有關本於信的義，卻這樣吩咐：「你心裡不用說：誰要升到天上去？」[c]——這意思是要把基督帶下來； 7 「也不用說：誰要下到無底坑去？[d]」——這意思是將基督從死人中領上來。 8 然而，這是怎麼說呢？「這話就在你身邊，在你口中，在你心裡。」[e]這就是我們所傳的有關信仰的話語： 9 你如果口裡承認耶穌是主，心裡相信神使他從死人中復活，就將得救。 10 就是說，人心裡相信以致稱義，口裡承認以致救恩， 11 因為經上說：「所有信靠他的人將不至於蒙羞。」[f] 12 猶太人和外邦人[g]並沒有分別，原來，萬人共同的主，使所有求告他的人都富足。 13 的確，「無論誰求告主名，都將得救。」[h]

以色列人拒絕福音

14 既然如此，人沒有相信他，怎麼能求告他呢？沒有聽說過他，怎麼能相信他呢？沒有人傳講，怎麼能聽到呢？ 15 如果沒有奉差派，又怎麼能去傳講呢？正如經上所記：「[i]傳講美好福音的人，他們的腳蹤多麼美麗！」[j] 16 但是，並不是所有的人都順從了福音，就如以賽亞所說：「主啊，我們所傳的，有誰信了呢？」[k] 17 因此，信是由聽而來，聽是藉著基督[l]的話而來。 18 那麼我要說，他們難道沒有聽過嗎？當然聽過——

「那聲音傳遍了天下，
那話語傳到了地極。」[m]

19 我再說「以色列人難道不明白嗎？」首先，摩西說：

「我要用不是子民的，激起你們的嫉妒之心，
用無知的民族激起你們的怒氣。」[n]

20 後來，以賽亞大膽地說：

「沒有尋找我的，我讓他們尋見；
沒有求問我的，我向他們顯現。」[o]

21 但是關於以色列人，他卻說：「我整天向那悖逆、頂嘴的子民伸出雙手。」[p]

10 弟兄姊妹，我心裡切望並向上帝祈求的，就是以色列人能夠得救。 2 我可以證明，他們對上帝有熱心，但不是基於真知。 3 他們不知道上帝所賜的義，想努力建立自己的義，不肯服從上帝的義。 4 其實基督是律法的終極目的，使所有信靠祂的人都可以得到義。

求告主名的都必得救

5 關於律法的義，摩西寫道：「人若遵行律法的誡命，就必活著。」 6 但是論到以信心為基礎的義，聖經上說：「不要心裡說，『誰要升到天上去呢？』意思是誰要把基督領下來， 7 或說，『誰要下到陰間去呢？』意思是誰要把基督從死人中領上來。」 8 其實這裡是說：「這道近在咫尺，就在你口裡，在你心中。」這道就是我們所傳的信主之道。 9 你若口裡承認耶穌是主，心裡相信上帝使祂從死裡復活，就必得救。 10 因為人心裡相信，就可以被稱為義人，口裡承認，就可以得救。 11 正如聖經上說：「信靠祂的人必不致蒙羞。」 12 猶太人和希臘人並沒有分別，因為主是所有人的主，祂厚待所有求告祂的人， 13 因爲「凡求告主名的都必得救。」

14 可是，人還沒信祂，怎能求告祂呢？還沒聽說過祂，怎能信祂呢？沒有人傳道，怎能聽說過祂呢？ 15 人沒有受差遣，怎能傳道呢？正如聖經上說：「那傳福音之人的腳蹤是何等佳美！」 16 只是並非人人都信福音，就像以賽亞先知所說的：「主啊！誰相信我們所傳的呢？」

17 由此可見，聽了道，才會信道；有了基督的話，才有道可聽。 18 但我要問，以色列人沒有聽過嗎？當然聽過。因爲

「他們的聲音傳遍天下，
他們的話語傳到地極。」

19 我再問，難道以色列人不知道嗎？首先，摩西說：

「我要藉無名之民挑起你們的嫉妒，
用愚昧的國民激起你們的怒氣。」

20 後來，以賽亞先知又放膽地說：

「我讓沒有尋找我的人尋見，
我向沒有求問我的人顯現。」

21 至於以色列人，他說：

「我整天伸出雙手招呼那悖逆頑固的百姓。」

10 Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire(A) and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2 For I can testify about them that they are zealous(B) for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3 Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.(C) 4 Christ is the culmination of the law(D) so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.(E)

5 Moses writes this about the righteousness that is by the law: “The person who does these things will live by them.”[a](F) 6 But the righteousness that is by faith(G) says: “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’”[b](H) (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 “or ‘Who will descend into the deep?’”[c](I) (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).(J) 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,”[d](K) that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: 9 If you declare(L) with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,”(M) and believe(N) in your heart that God raised him from the dead,(O) you will be saved.(P) 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”[e](Q) 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile(R)—the same Lord is Lord of all(S) and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord(T) will be saved.”[f](U)

14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”[g](V)

16 But not all the Israelites accepted the good news.(W) For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?”[h](X) 17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message,(Y) and the message is heard through the word about Christ.(Z) 18 But I ask: Did they not hear? Of course they did:

“Their voice has gone out into all the earth,
    their words to the ends of the world.”[i](AA)

19 Again I ask: Did Israel not understand? First, Moses says,

“I will make you envious(AB) by those who are not a nation;
    I will make you angry by a nation that has no understanding.”[j](AC)

20 And Isaiah boldly says,

“I was found by those who did not seek me;
    I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me.”[k](AD)

21 But concerning Israel he says,

“All day long I have held out my hands
    to a disobedient and obstinate people.”[l](AE)
