耶穌被捕
18 耶穌禱告完畢，就帶著門徒渡過汲淪溪，進了那裡的一個園子。 2 因為耶穌時常帶著門徒到那裡聚會，所以出賣耶穌的猶大也知道那地方。 3 這時，猶大帶著一隊士兵以及祭司長和法利賽人的差役，拿著燈籠、火把和兵器來了。 4 耶穌早就知道將要發生在自己身上的一切事，於是出來問他們：「你們找誰？」
5 他們回答說：「拿撒勒人耶穌！」
耶穌說：「我就是。」那時出賣耶穌的猶大也站在他們當中。
6 他們聽到耶穌說「我就是」，便後退跌倒在地上。
7 耶穌又問：「你們找誰？」
他們說：「拿撒勒人耶穌。」
8 耶穌說：「我已經告訴你們我就是。你們既然找我，就讓這些人走吧。」 9 這是要應驗祂以前說的：「你賜給我的人一個也沒有失掉。」
10 這時，西門·彼得帶著一把刀，他拔刀向大祭司的奴僕馬勒古砍去，削掉了他的右耳。
11 耶穌對彼得說：「收刀入鞘吧！我父賜給我的杯，我怎能不喝呢？」
12 千夫長帶著士兵和猶太人的差役上前把耶穌捆綁起來，帶了回去。 13 他們押著耶穌去見亞那，就是那一年的大祭司該亞法的岳父。 14 這個該亞法以前曾對猶太人建議說：「讓祂一個人替眾人死對你們更好。」
彼得不認主
15 西門·彼得和另一個門徒跟在耶穌後面。由於那門徒和大祭司認識，他就跟著耶穌來到大祭司的院子。 16 彼得留在門外。後來，大祭司所認識的那個門徒出來對看門的女僕說了一聲，便把彼得也帶了進去。
17 看門的女僕問彼得：「你不也是這個人的門徒嗎？」
他說：「我不是。」
18 天氣很冷，奴僕和差役生了一堆火，站著烤火取暖，彼得也跟他們站在一起烤火取暖。 19 此時，大祭司正在盤問耶穌有關祂的門徒和祂的教導之事。
20 耶穌說：「我是公開對世人講的，我常在猶太人聚集的會堂和聖殿教導人，沒有在背地裡講過什麼。 21 你何必問我呢？問那些聽過我講的人吧，他們知道我講過什麼。」
22 耶穌話才說完，站在旁邊的差役就打了祂一耳光，說：「你敢這樣回答大祭司！」
23 耶穌說：「如果我說錯了，你可以指出我錯在哪裡。如果我說的對，你為什麼打我呢？」
24 亞那把被捆綁起來的耶穌押到大祭司該亞法那裡。
25 那時西門·彼得仍然站著烤火，有人問他：「你不也是那人的門徒嗎？」
彼得否認說：「我不是！」
26 一個大祭司的奴僕，就是被彼得削掉耳朵的那個人的親戚說：「我不是看見你和祂一起在園子裡嗎？」 27 彼得再次否認。就在那時，雞叫了。
彼拉多審問耶穌
28 黎明的時候，眾人從該亞法那裡把耶穌押往總督府，他們自己卻沒有進去，因為怕沾染污穢，不能吃逾越節的晚餐。 29 彼拉多出來問他們：「你們控告這個人什麼罪？」
30 他們回答說：「如果祂沒有為非作歹，我們也不會把祂送到你這裡來。」
31 彼拉多說：「你們把祂帶走，按照你們的律法去審理吧。」
猶太人說：「可是我們無權把人處死。」 32 這是要應驗耶穌預言自己會怎樣死的話。
33 彼拉多回到總督府提審耶穌，問道：「你是猶太人的王嗎？」
34 耶穌回答說：「你這樣問是你自己的意思還是聽別人說的？」
35 彼拉多說：「難道我是猶太人嗎？是你們猶太人和祭司長把你送來的。你到底犯了什麼罪？」
36 耶穌答道：「我的國不屬於這個世界，如果我的國屬於這個世界，我的臣僕早就起來爭戰了，我也不會被交在猶太人的手裡。但我的國不屬於這個世界。」
37 於是彼拉多對祂說：「那麼，你是王嗎？」
耶穌說：「你說我是王，我正是為此而生，也為此來到世上為真理做見證，屬於真理的人都聽從我的話。」
38 彼拉多說：「真理是什麼？」說完了，又到外面對猶太人說：「我查不出祂有什麼罪。 39 不過按照慣例，在逾越節的時候，我要給你們釋放一個人。現在，你們要我釋放這個猶太人的王嗎？」
40 眾人又高喊：「不要這個人！我們要巴拉巴！」巴拉巴是個強盜。

18 Nang masalita ni Jesus ang mga salitang ito, (A)siya'y umalis na kasama ng kaniyang mga alagad na nagsitawid ng batis ng Cedron, na doo'y may isang halamanan, na pinasok niya at ng kaniyang mga alagad.
2 Si Judas nga rin naman, na sa kaniya'y nagkanulo, ay nalalaman ang dako: sapagka't madalas na si (B)Jesus ay nakikipagkatipon sa kaniyang mga alagad doon.
3 Si Judas nga, (C)pagkatanggap ng pulutong ng mga kawal, at mga punong kawal na mula sa mga pangulong saserdote at mga Fariseo, ay nagsiparoon na may mga ilawan at mga sulo at mga sandata.
4 Si Jesus nga, na nakatataho ng lahat ng mga bagay na sasapit sa kaniya, ay lumabas, at sa kanila'y sinabi, Sino ang inyong hinahanap?
5 Sinagot niya sila, Si Jesus na taga Nazaret. Sinabi sa kanila ni Jesus, Ako nga. At si Judas din naman, na sa kaniya'y nagkanulo, ay nakatayong kasama nila.
6 Pagkasabi nga niya sa kanila, Ako nga, ay nagsiurong sila, at nangalugmok sa lupa.
7 Muli ngang sila'y tinanong niya, Sino ang inyong hinahanap? At sinabi nila, Si Jesus na taga Nazaret.
8 Sumagot si Jesus, Sinabi ko sa inyo na ako nga; kung ako nga ang inyong hinahanap, ay pabayaan ninyo ang mga ito na magsiyaon sa kanilang lakad.
9 Upang matupad ang salitang sinalita niya, (D)Sa mga ibinigay mo sa akin ay hindi ko iniwala kahit isa.
10 Si Simon Pedro nga na may tabak ay nagbunot nito, at sinugatan ang alipin ng dakilang saserdote, at tinagpas ang kaniyang kanang tainga. Ang pangalan ng aliping yaon ay Malco.
11 Sinabi nga ni Jesus kay Pedro, Isalong mo ang iyong tabak: (E)ang sarong sa akin ay ibinigay ng Ama, ay hindi ko baga iinuman?
12 Kaya dinakip si Jesus ng pulutong at ng pangulong kapitan, at ng mga punong kawal ng mga Judio, at siya'y ginapos.
13 At (F)siya'y dinala muna (G)kay Anas; sapagka't siya'y biyenan ni (H)Caifas, na dakilang saserdote nang taong yaon.
14 Si Caifas nga (I)na siyang nagpayo sa mga Judio, na dapat na ang isang tao'y mamatay dahil sa bayan.
15 At sumunod si (J)Simon Pedro kay Jesus, at gayon din ang isa pang alagad. Ang alagad ngang yaon ay kilala ng dakilang saserdote, at pumasok na kasama ni Jesus sa looban ng dakilang saserdote;
16 Nguni't si Pedro ay (K)nakatayo sa pintuan sa labas. Kaya't ang isang alagad, na kilala ng dakilang saserdote ay lumabas at kinausap ang babaing tanod-pinto, at ipinasok si Pedro.
17 Sinabi nga kay Pedro ng dalagang tanod-pinto, Pati baga ikaw ay isa sa mga alagad ng taong ito? Sinabi niya, Ako'y hindi.
18 Nangakatayo nga doon ang mga alipin at ang mga punong kawal, na nangagpapaningas ng sigang uling; sapagka't maginaw; at sila'y nangagpapainit: at si Pedro rin naman ay kasama nila, na nakatayo at nagpapainit.
19 (L)Tinanong nga ng dakilang saserdote si Jesus tungkol sa kaniyang mga alagad, at sa kaniyang pagtuturo.
20 Sinagot siya ni Jesus, Ako'y hayag na nagsalita sa sanglibutan; ako'y laging nagtuturo (M)sa mga sinagoga, at sa templo, na siyang pinagkakatipunan ng lahat ng mga Judio; at wala akong sinalita sa lihim.
21 Bakit ako'y iyong tinatanong? tanungin mo silang nangakarinig sa akin, kung anong sinalita ko sa kanila: narito, ang mga ito ang nangakakaalam ng mga bagay na sinabi ko.
22 At nang kaniyang masabi ito, ay sinampal si Jesus ng isa sa mga punong kawal na nakatayo roon, na nagsasabi, (N)Ganyan ang pagsagot mo sa dakilang saserdote?
23 Sinagot siya ni Jesus, Kung ako'y nagsalita ng masama, patotohanan mo ang kasamaan; datapuwa't kung mabuti, bakit mo ako sinasampal?
24 Ipinadala nga siyang gapos ni Anas kay Caifas na dakilang saserdote.
25 Nakatayo nga si Pedro na nagpapainit. (O)Sinabi nga nila sa kaniya, Ikaw baga ay isa rin naman sa kaniyang mga alagad? Siya'y kumaila, at sinabi, Ako'y hindi.
26 Ang isa sa mga alipin ng dakilang saserdote, na kamaganak (P)niyaong tinagpas ni Pedro ang tainga, ay nagsabi, Hindi baga ikaw ay nakita kong kasama niya sa halamanan?
27 Muli ngang kumaila si Pedro: at (Q)pagdaka'y tumilaok ang manok.
28 Dinala nga nila si Jesus mula kay Caifas hanggang sa Pretorio: at niyao'y maaga pa; (R)at sila'y hindi nagsipasok sa Pretorio, upang huwag silang madungisan, (S)upang sila'y mangyaring makakain ng kordero ng paskua.
29 (T)Nilabas nga sila ni Pilato, at sinabi, Anong sakdal ang dala ninyo laban sa taong ito?
30 Sila'y nagsisagot at sinabi sa kaniya, Kung ang taong ito'y hindi manggagawa ng masama, ay hindi sana namin dinala sa iyo.
31 Sa kanila nga'y sinabi ni Pilato, Kunin ninyo siya, at siya'y inyong hatulan ayon sa inyong kautusan. Ang mga Judio'y nangagsabi sa kaniya, Sa amin ay hindi naaayon sa kautusan na magpapatay ng sinomang tao:
32 Upang matupad (U)ang salitang sinalita ni Jesus, na ipinaalam kung sa anong paraan ng kamatayan siya mamamatay.
33 Si Pilato nga'y muling pumasok sa Pretorio, at tinawag si Jesus, at sa kaniya'y sinabi, Ikaw baga ang Hari ng mga Judio?
34 Sumagot si Jesus, Sinasabi mo baga ito sa iyong sarili, o sinabi sa iyo ng mga iba tungkol sa akin?
35 Si Pilato ay sumagot, Ako baga'y Judio? Ang iyong sariling bansa at ang mga pangulong saserdote ang sa iyo'y nagdala sa akin: anong ginawa mo?
36 Sumagot si Jesus, (V)Ang kaharian ko ay hindi (W)sa sanglibutang ito: kung ang kaharian ko ay sa sanglibutang ito, ang aking mga alipin nga ay makikipagbaka, upang ako'y huwag (X)maibigay sa mga Judio: nguni't ngayo'y ang aking kaharian ay hindi rito.
37 Sinabi nga sa kaniya ni Pilato, Ikaw nga baga'y hari? Sumagot si Jesus, (Y)Ikaw ang nagsasabing ako'y hari. (Z)Ako'y ipinanganak dahil dito, dahil dito ako naparito sa (AA)sanglibutan, upang bigyang patotoo ang katotohanan. (AB)Ang bawa't isang ayon sa katotohanan ay nakikinig ng aking tinig.
38 Sinabi sa kaniya ni Pilato, Ano ang katotohanan?
At nang masabi niya ito ay (AC)lumabas siyang muli sa mga Judio, at sa kanila'y sinabi, Wala akong masumpungang anomang kasalanan sa kaniya.
39 Nguni't kayo'y (AD)may ugali, na pawalan sa inyo ang isa sa paskua: ibig nga baga ninyong sa inyo'y pawalan ko ang Hari ng mga Judio?
40 Sila nga'y nagsigawang muli, na nangagsasabi, Huwag ang taong ito, kundi si Barrabas. Si Barrabas nga'y isang tulisan.

Jesus Arrested(A)
18 When he had finished praying, Jesus left with his disciples and crossed the Kidron Valley.(B) On the other side there was a garden,(C) and he and his disciples went into it.(D)
2 Now Judas, who betrayed him, knew the place, because Jesus had often met there with his disciples.(E) 3 So Judas came to the garden, guiding(F) a detachment of soldiers and some officials from the chief priests and the Pharisees.(G) They were carrying torches, lanterns and weapons.
4 Jesus, knowing all that was going to happen to him,(H) went out and asked them, “Who is it you want?”(I)
5 “Jesus of Nazareth,”(J) they replied.
“I am he,” Jesus said. (And Judas the traitor was standing there with them.) 6 When Jesus said, “I am he,” they drew back and fell to the ground.
7 Again he asked them, “Who is it you want?”(K)
“Jesus of Nazareth,” they said.
8 Jesus answered, “I told you that I am he. If you are looking for me, then let these men go.” 9 This happened so that the words he had spoken would be fulfilled: “I have not lost one of those you gave me.”[a](L)
10 Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. (The servant’s name was Malchus.)
11 Jesus commanded Peter, “Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup(M) the Father has given me?”
12 Then the detachment of soldiers with its commander and the Jewish officials(N) arrested Jesus. They bound him 13 and brought him first to Annas, who was the father-in-law of Caiaphas,(O) the high priest that year. 14 Caiaphas was the one who had advised the Jewish leaders that it would be good if one man died for the people.(P)
Peter’s First Denial(Q)
15 Simon Peter and another disciple were following Jesus. Because this disciple was known to the high priest,(R) he went with Jesus into the high priest’s courtyard,(S) 16 but Peter had to wait outside at the door. The other disciple, who was known to the high priest, came back, spoke to the servant girl on duty there and brought Peter in.
17 “You aren’t one of this man’s disciples too, are you?” she asked Peter.
He replied, “I am not.”(T)
18 It was cold, and the servants and officials stood around a fire(U) they had made to keep warm. Peter also was standing with them, warming himself.(V)
The High Priest Questions Jesus(W)
19 Meanwhile, the high priest questioned Jesus about his disciples and his teaching.
20 “I have spoken openly to the world,” Jesus replied. “I always taught in synagogues(X) or at the temple,(Y) where all the Jews come together. I said nothing in secret.(Z) 21 Why question me? Ask those who heard me. Surely they know what I said.”
22 When Jesus said this, one of the officials(AA) nearby slapped him in the face.(AB) “Is this the way you answer the high priest?” he demanded.
23 “If I said something wrong,” Jesus replied, “testify as to what is wrong. But if I spoke the truth, why did you strike me?”(AC) 24 Then Annas sent him bound to Caiaphas(AD) the high priest.
Peter’s Second and Third Denials(AE)
25 Meanwhile, Simon Peter was still standing there warming himself.(AF) So they asked him, “You aren’t one of his disciples too, are you?”
He denied it, saying, “I am not.”(AG)
26 One of the high priest’s servants, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off,(AH) challenged him, “Didn’t I see you with him in the garden?”(AI) 27 Again Peter denied it, and at that moment a rooster began to crow.(AJ)
Jesus Before Pilate(AK)
28 Then the Jewish leaders took Jesus from Caiaphas to the palace of the Roman governor.(AL) By now it was early morning, and to avoid ceremonial uncleanness they did not enter the palace,(AM) because they wanted to be able to eat the Passover.(AN) 29 So Pilate came out to them and asked, “What charges are you bringing against this man?”
30 “If he were not a criminal,” they replied, “we would not have handed him over to you.”
31 Pilate said, “Take him yourselves and judge him by your own law.”
“But we have no right to execute anyone,” they objected. 32 This took place to fulfill what Jesus had said about the kind of death he was going to die.(AO)
33 Pilate then went back inside the palace,(AP) summoned Jesus and asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?”(AQ)
34 “Is that your own idea,” Jesus asked, “or did others talk to you about me?”
35 “Am I a Jew?” Pilate replied. “Your own people and chief priests handed you over to me. What is it you have done?”
36 Jesus said, “My kingdom(AR) is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders.(AS) But now my kingdom is from another place.”(AT)
37 “You are a king, then!” said Pilate.
Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth.(AU) Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”(AV)
38 “What is truth?” retorted Pilate. With this he went out again to the Jews gathered there and said, “I find no basis for a charge against him.(AW) 39 But it is your custom for me to release to you one prisoner at the time of the Passover. Do you want me to release ‘the king of the Jews’?”
40 They shouted back, “No, not him! Give us Barabbas!” Now Barabbas had taken part in an uprising.(AX)
