大衛恩待米非波設
9 大衛問：「掃羅一家還有什麼人嗎？我要因為和約拿單的情義而恩待他。」 2 有人就去叫掃羅家一個名叫洗巴的僕人來見大衛，王問他：「你就是洗巴嗎？」他說：「僕人正是洗巴。」 3 王說：「掃羅家中還有什麼人？我要以上帝的慈愛來待他。」洗巴答道：「約拿單還有一個兒子，是雙腳殘廢的。」 4 王說：「他在哪裡？」洗巴答道：「他住在羅·底巴，在亞米利的兒子瑪吉家裡。」 5 於是，大衛王派人去羅·底巴把他從亞米利的兒子瑪吉家裡接來。 6 掃羅的孫子、約拿單的兒子米非波設來到大衛面前，向他俯伏叩拜。大衛說：「米非波設！」米非波設答道：「僕人在這裡。」 7 大衛說：「你不用害怕，我要因為和你父親約拿單的情義而恩待你。我要把你祖父掃羅所有的田地歸還給你，你要常與我同席吃飯。」 8 米非波設再次叩拜，說：「僕人算什麼？不過像一條死狗罷了，你竟這樣眷顧我！」
9 王又把掃羅的僕人洗巴召來，對他說：「我已把掃羅全家的產業都賜給了你主人的孫子米非波設。 10 你和你的兒子及僕人要為米非波設種田，把出產拿來供養他。他還要常常與我同席吃飯。」洗巴有十五個兒子，二十個僕人。 11 洗巴對王說：「僕人必遵行我主我王的一切吩咐。」於是，米非波設像王子一樣常與大衛同席吃飯。 12 米非波設有一個小兒子名叫米迦。洗巴家中的人都做了米非波設的僕人。 13 從此，雙腳殘廢的米非波設就住在耶路撒冷，常常與王同席吃飯。

9 And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan's sake?
2 And there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba. And when they had called him unto David, the king said unto him, Art thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant is he.
3 And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet.
4 And the king said unto him, Where is he? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lodebar.
5 Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar.
6 Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant!
7 And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father's sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.
8 And he bowed himself, and said, What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am?
9 Then the king called to Ziba, Saul's servant, and said unto him, I have given unto thy master's son all that pertained to Saul and to all his house.
10 Thou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in the fruits, that thy master's son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth thy master's son shall eat bread alway at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
11 Then said Ziba unto the king, According to all that my lord the king hath commanded his servant, so shall thy servant do. As for Mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table, as one of the king's sons.
12 And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Micha. And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants unto Mephibosheth.
13 So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he did eat continually at the king's table; and was lame on both his feet.
