Acts 16:38-40

New International Version

³⁸The officers reported this to the magistrates, and when they heard that Paul and Silas were Roman citizens, they were alarmed.^(A) ³⁹They came to appease them and escorted them from the prison, requesting them to leave the city.^(B) ⁴⁰After Paul and Silas came out of the prison, they went to Lydia’s house,^(C) where they met with the brothers and sisters^(D) and encouraged them. Then they left.

³⁹And they came and besought them, and brought them out, and desired them to depart out of the city.

⁴⁰And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.
