耶和华指责以色列人拜偶像
8 “吹响号角警告众人吧！
敌人要如鹰扑向耶和华的家，
因为百姓背弃我的约，
违背我的律法。
2 他们要向我呼求，
‘我们的上帝啊，
我们以色列人认识你了。’
3 以色列已经弃绝良善，
所以敌人要追赶他。
4 他们拥立君王，未经我的同意；
选立首领，没有让我知道。
他们用金银为自己制造神像，自取灭亡。
5 我鄙弃撒玛利亚人所拜的牛犊，
我要向他们发怒，
他们到什么时候才能洁身自守呢？
6 这牛犊是以色列的工匠造的，
并不是神，必被砸得粉碎。
7 他们种的是风，
收的是暴风。
他们的庄稼长不出穗子，
结不出籽粒，
就是有收成，
也要被外族人吃掉。
8 以色列被吞灭了，
他在列国之中，
就像无用的破器皿。
9 他们投奔亚述，
就像孤独漂泊的野驴。
以法莲收买情人。
10 尽管他们在各国贿买盟友，
如今我却要把他们聚集起来，审判他们。
他们必因君王和首领的欺压而日渐衰微。
11 “以法莲增建除罪的祭坛，

8 Embouche donc le cor !
C’est comme un aigle
fondant sur le pays |de l’Eternel,
car ils ont violé mon alliance,
et se sont révoltés |contre ma Loi.
2 Ils crient vers moi :
“O toi, notre Dieu, nous te connaissons, nous, Israël !”
3 Mais Israël a rejeté le bien,
c’est pourquoi l’ennemi |le poursuivra.
4 Ils se sont établis des rois, |sans mon accord,
se sont donné des chefs |sans mon approbation[a].
Ils ont utilisé |leur or et leur argent
pour se fabriquer des idoles
et cela causera leur perte[b].
5 Ton veau[c], ô Samarie, |je le rejette.
Oui, contre toi, |ma colère s’est enflammée.
Combien de temps encore |seras-tu incapable |de pureté ?
6 Car ton veau, il vient d’Israël,
un artisan l’a fait,
il n’est pas Dieu.
Il sera mis en pièces, |le veau de Samarie.
Le vent et la tempête
7 Ils ont semé le vent,
ils moissonneront la tempête :
“Blé sans épi |ne produira pas de farine.”
Et même s’il en produisait,
ce sont des étrangers |qui la dévoreraient.
8 Oui, Israël |est dévoré.
Le voici, désormais, |parmi les autres peuples,
comme un objet indésirable.
9 Car lui, il est allé |s’adresser à Assur.
Un onagre sauvage |garde sa liberté[d],
mais les gens d’Ephraïm |se sont acheté des amants[e].
10 Mais ils auront beau faire |des présents à des peuples étrangers,
je vais les rassembler,
et ils dépériront
très bientôt sous le joug
du roi des princes[f].
11 Le peuple d’Ephraïm |multiplie les autels |pour y offrir des sacrifices |pour le péché.
Ils ne lui ont servi |qu’à pécher davantage.
12 Et si j’écris pour lui |de nombreux articles de loi,
il les regarde |comme si cette loi |lui était étrangère.
13 Pour me faire une offrande |ils sacrifient des bêtes,
et la viande, ils la mangent ;
l’Eternel ne les agrée pas.
Désormais, il prendra |en considération leurs fautes
et il les châtiera |pour leurs péchés,
ils retourneront en Egypte.
14 Oui, Israël a oublié |celui qui l’a créé,
et il s’est construit des palais,
Juda a fortifié |des quantités de villes,
mais j’y mettrai le feu
qui consumera leurs palais. »

Israel to Reap the Whirlwind
8 “Put the trumpet(A) to your lips!
An eagle(B) is over the house of the Lord
because the people have broken my covenant(C)
and rebelled against my law.(D)
2 Israel cries out to me,
‘Our God, we acknowledge you!’
3 But Israel has rejected what is good;
an enemy will pursue him.(E)
4 They set up kings without my consent;
they choose princes without my approval.(F)
With their silver and gold
they make idols(G) for themselves
to their own destruction.
5 Samaria, throw out your calf-idol!(H)
My anger burns against them.
How long will they be incapable of purity?(I)
6 They are from Israel!
This calf—a metalworker has made it;
it is not God.(J)
It will be broken in pieces,
that calf(K) of Samaria.(L)
7 “They sow the wind
and reap the whirlwind.(M)
The stalk has no head;
it will produce no flour.(N)
Were it to yield grain,
foreigners would swallow it up.(O)
8 Israel is swallowed up;(P)
now she is among the nations
like something no one wants.(Q)
9 For they have gone up to Assyria(R)
like a wild donkey(S) wandering alone.
Ephraim has sold herself to lovers.(T)
10 Although they have sold themselves among the nations,
I will now gather them together.(U)
They will begin to waste away(V)
under the oppression of the mighty king.
11 “Though Ephraim built many altars for sin offerings,
these have become altars for sinning.(W)
12 I wrote for them the many things of my law,
but they regarded them as something foreign.(X)
13 Though they offer sacrifices as gifts to me,
and though they eat(Y) the meat,
the Lord is not pleased with them.(Z)
Now he will remember(AA) their wickedness
and punish their sins:(AB)
They will return to Egypt.(AC)
14 Israel has forgotten(AD) their Maker(AE)
and built palaces;
Judah has fortified many towns.
But I will send fire on their cities
that will consume their fortresses.”(AF)
