13 ଆୟୁବ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲା, “ଦେଖ ଏସବୁ କଥା ମୁଁ ଆଗରୁ ଦେଖିଛି।
ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ କଥା ଶୁଣିଅଛି।
ମୁଁ ସେସବୁ କଥା ଶୁଣିଛି ଓ ବୁଝିଛି ମଧ୍ୟ।
2 ଯାହା ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଜାଣିଛ ତାହା ମୁଁ ବି ଜାଣିଛି।
ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭଠାରୁ କୌଣସି ଗୁଣରେ ନ୍ୟୁନ ନୁହେଁ।
3 ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସହିତ ତର୍କ କରିବାକୁ ଗ୍ଭହୁଁ ନାହିଁ।
ମୁଁ ସେହି ସର୍ବଶକ୍ତିମାନ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କୁ କହିବାକୁ ଗ୍ଭହେଁ।
ମୁଁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ସହିତ ମୋ’ ବିପଦ ସମ୍ପର୍କରେ ଯୁକ୍ତି କରିବାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛା କରେ।
4 କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏକ କୁହୁକ ବିଦ୍ୟାକାରୀ
ଏବଂ ମୂଲ୍ୟହୀନ ବୈଦ୍ୟ ଅଟ।
5 ମୁଁ ଗ୍ଭହେଁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଅନ୍ତତଃ ନୀରବ ରୁହ
ତାହା ସବୁଠାରୁ ବୁଦ୍ଧିମାନର କାମ ତୁମ୍ଭେ କରିବ।
6 “ଏବେ ମୋର ଯୁକ୍ତି ଶୁଣ।
ମୁଁ ଯାହା କହିବାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛାକରେ ତାକୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ଶୁଣ।
7 ତୁମ୍ଭେ କ’ଣ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ପକ୍ଷରେ ମିଥ୍ୟା କଥା କହିବ?
ତୁମ୍ଭେ କ’ଣ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରୁଛ ଯେ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ମିଥ୍ୟା କଥା ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ସମର୍ଥିତ ହେବ?
8 ତୁମ୍ଭେ କ’ଣ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ପକ୍ଷ ସମର୍ଥନ କରୁଛ,
କେବଳ ସେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ବୋଲି?
ତୁମ୍ଭେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ପକ୍ଷ ସମର୍ଥନ କରୁଛ କି?
9 ଯଦି ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଅତି ନିକଟରୁ ପରୀକ୍ଷା କରିବେ,
ଏହା କ’ଣ ଭଲ ହେବ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଠିକ୍ ବୋଲି କହିବେ?
ତୁମ୍ଭେ କ’ଣ ସତରେ ଭାବୁଛ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରତାରିତ କରିବ,
ଯେମିତିକି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରତାରିତ କରି ପାର?
10 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣ ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ନ୍ୟାୟାଳୟରେ ଜଣକ ପକ୍ଷ ସମର୍ଥନ କର
କାରଣ ସେ ଜଣେ ପ୍ରତିଷ୍ଠିତ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ତାହାହେଲେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ସମାଲୋଚନା କରିବେ।
11 ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ମହତ୍ତ୍ୱ କ’ଣ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଡରାଇବ ନାହିଁ?
ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଭୟଭୀତ ହେଉ ନାହଁ।
12 ତୁମ୍ଭର ଯୁକ୍ତି ସବୁ ଅସାର।
ତୁମ୍ଭର ଉତ୍ତର ସବୁ ମୂଲ୍ୟହୀନ।
13 “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଚୁପ୍ ରୁହ ଏବଂ ମୋତେ କହିବାକୁ ଦିଅ।
ଯାହା ମୋ’ ପ୍ରତି ଘଟିବ ତାକୁ ମୁଁ ସମସ୍ତ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବି।
14 ମୁଁ ନିଜକୁ ବିପଦରେ ପକାଇବି
ଏବଂ ମୋ’ ଜୀବନ ନିଜ ହାତରେ ଦେବି।
15 ସେ ମୋତେ ମାରି ଦେଇ ପାରନ୍ତି, ମୁଁ ଭରସା ବିହିନ।
ତଥାପି ତାଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ମୋର ପକ୍ଷ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରିବି।
16 ଯଦି ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ମୋତେ ମୁକ୍ତି ପ୍ରଦାନ କରନ୍ତି, ଏହା କେବଳ ମୋର ସାହସିକ ବକ୍ତବ୍ୟ ପାଇଁ।
କୌଣସି ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି କେବେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖକୁ ଆସିବାକୁ ସାହସ କରିବେ ନାହିଁ।
17 ମୁଁ ଯାହା କରୁଛି, ମୋ’ କଥା ମନୋଯୋଗ ଦେଇ ଶୁଣ।
ମୋତେ ବୁଝାଇ କହିବାକୁ ଦିଅ।
18 ମୁଁ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ମୋ’ ପକ୍ଷ ସମର୍ଥନ କରିବାକୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ ଅଟେ।
ମୁଁ ସତର୍କତାର ସହିତ ମୋର ତର୍କ ଉପସ୍ଥାପନ କରିବି।
ମୁଁ ଜାଣେ, ମୁଁ ଶେଷରେ ନିଜକୁ ସରଳ ବୋଲି ପ୍ରମାଣିତ କରି ପାରିବି।
19 ଯଦି କୌଣସି ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ପ୍ରମାଣ କରିପାରେ ଯେ ମୁଁ ଭୁଲ୍
ତା’ହେଲେ ମୁଁ ସାଙ୍ଗେ ସାଙ୍ଗେ ଚୁପ୍ ହୋଇଯିବି।
20 “ହେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ମୋତେ କେବଳ ଦୁଇଟି ବସ୍ତୁ ଦିଅ
ଓ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭଠାରୁ ଲୁଚିବି ନାହିଁ।
21 ମୋତେ ଦଣ୍ଡ ଦେବା ବନ୍ଦକର,
ଏବଂ ମୋତେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଭୟାବହତାରେ ଭୟଭୀତ କର ନାହିଁ।
22 ତା’ପରେ ମୋତେ ଡାକ ମୁଁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେବି
କିମ୍ବା ମୁଁ କହିବି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଉତ୍ତର ଦିଅ।
23 ମୁଁ କେତେ ପାପ କରିଛି?
ମୁଁ କ’ଣ ଅଧର୍ମ କରିଛି?
ମୋତେ ମୋର ପାପ ଓ ଭୁଲ୍ ସବୁ ଜଣାଇ ଦିଅ।
24 ହେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର, ତୁମ୍ଭେ କାହିଁକି ମୋ’ଠାରୁ ଦୂରେଇ ଯାଉଛ
ଏବଂ ଶତ୍ରୁଭଳି ବ୍ୟବହାର କରୁଛ?
25 ତୁମ୍ଭେ କ’ଣ ମୋତେ ଡରାଇବାକୁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କରୁଛ?
ମୁଁ ଏକ ପତ୍ର ଯାହାକି ପବନରେ ଉଡ଼ିଯାଏ।
ତୁମ୍ଭେ କ’ଣ କୁଟାଖିଆ ପଛରେ ଗୋଡ଼ାଇବ?
26 ହେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋ’ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ତିକ୍ତ କଥା କହୁଛ
ଏବଂ ହୁଏତ ମୋ’ ଯୌବନର ପାପ ପାଇଁ ମୋତେ ଶାସ୍ତି ପ୍ରଦାନ କରୁଛ।
27 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋ’ ପାଦରେ ବେଡ଼ି ବାନ୍ଧିଛ
ଏବଂ ମୋର ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଆଗେଇବା ପାଦକୁ ଲକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ରଖିଛ
ଓ ମୋର ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଗତିବିଧିକୁ ଲକ୍ଷ୍ୟ କରୁଛ।
28 ତେଣୁ ମୁଁ ଧୀରେ ଧୀରେ ଦୁର୍ବଳ ହୋଇ ପଡ଼ୁଅଛି
ଖଣ୍ଡେ ପଗ୍ଭ କାଠପରି
ତଥା ଖଣ୍ଡେ ପୋକଖିଆ କପଡ଼ା ପରି।

Job Continues: Still I Will Hope in God
13 “Behold, my eye has seen all this,
my ear has heard and understood it.
2 (A)What you know, I also know;
I am not inferior to you.
3 (B)But I would speak to the Almighty,
and I desire to (C)argue my case with God.
4 As for you, (D)you whitewash with lies;
(E)worthless physicians are you all.
5 Oh that you would (F)keep silent,
and it would be your wisdom!
6 Hear now my argument
and listen to the pleadings of my lips.
7 Will you (G)speak falsely for God
and speak (H)deceitfully for him?
8 Will you show partiality toward him?
Will you (I)plead the case for God?
9 Will it be well with you when he (J)searches you out?
Or (K)can you deceive him, as one deceives a man?
10 He will surely rebuke you
if in secret you show partiality.
11 Will not his (L)majesty terrify you,
and the dread of him fall upon you?
12 Your maxims are proverbs of (M)ashes;
your defenses are defenses of clay.
13 “Let me have silence, and I will speak,
and let come on me what may.
14 Why should I take my flesh in my teeth
and (N)put my life in my hand?
15 (O)Though he slay me, I will (P)hope in him;[a]
yet I will (Q)argue my ways to his face.
16 This will be my salvation,
that the godless shall not come before him.
17 (R)Keep listening to my words,
and let my declaration be in your ears.
18 Behold, I have (S)prepared my case;
I know that I shall be in the right.
19 (T)Who is there who will contend with me?
For then I would be silent and die.
20 Only grant me two things,
then I will not (U)hide myself from your face:
21 (V)withdraw your hand far from me,
and let not (W)dread of you terrify me.
22 (X)Then call, and I will answer;
or let me speak, and you reply to me.
23 How many are my iniquities and my sins?
(Y)Make me know my transgression and my sin.
24 Why (Z)do you hide your face
and (AA)count me as your enemy?
25 Will you frighten (AB)a driven leaf
and pursue dry (AC)chaff?
26 For you (AD)write bitter things against me
and make me inherit (AE)the iniquities of my youth.
27 You put my feet in (AF)the stocks
and (AG)watch all my paths;
you set a limit for[b] the soles of my feet.
28 Man[c] wastes away like (AH)a rotten thing,
like a garment that is (AI)moth-eaten.

and take my life in my hands?(V)
15 Though he slay me, yet will I hope(W) in him;(X)
I will surely[a] defend my ways to his face.(Y)
16 Indeed, this will turn out for my deliverance,(Z)
for no godless(AA) person would dare come before him!(AB)
17 Listen carefully to what I say;(AC)
let my words ring in your ears.
18 Now that I have prepared my case,(AD)
I know I will be vindicated.(AE)
19 Can anyone bring charges against me?(AF)
If so, I will be silent(AG) and die.(AH)
20 “Only grant me these two things, God,
and then I will not hide from you:
21 Withdraw your hand(AI) far from me,
and stop frightening me with your terrors.(AJ)
22 Then summon me and I will answer,(AK)
or let me speak, and you reply to me.(AL)
23 How many wrongs and sins have I committed?(AM)
Show me my offense and my sin.(AN)
24 Why do you hide your face(AO)
and consider me your enemy?(AP)
25 Will you torment(AQ) a windblown leaf?(AR)
Will you chase(AS) after dry chaff?(AT)
26 For you write down bitter things against me
and make me reap the sins of my youth.(AU)
27 You fasten my feet in shackles;(AV)
you keep close watch on all my paths(AW)
by putting marks on the soles of my feet.
