22 Дође ми реч Господња:
2 „А ти, сине човечији, хоћеш ли судити, хоћеш ли судити том граду што пролива крв? Затим му обзнани све његове гадости. 3 Реци: ’Говори Господ Бог: ево, ближи се час граду у коме се пролива крв, и који прави идоле да се њима оскрнављује. 4 Навукао си на себе кривицу зато што си проливао крв, и зато што си се оскрнавио идолима које си направио. Скратио си себи дане, и дошао је крај твојим годинама. Зато ћу учинити да те народи презиру и да ти се све земље ругају. 5 Ругаће ти се и они који су близу и који су далеко, граде осрамоћеног имена, који си пун нереда.
6 Гле, израиљски кнезови у теби, сваки од њих, користе своју власт да проливају крв. 7 У теби понижавају очеве и мајке, у теби злостављају странце, и тлаче сирочад и удовице. 8 Ти презиреш моје светиње и скрнавиш моје суботе. 9 У теби су клеветници који гледају да пролију крв, у теби једу на горама и чине што је срамота. 10 У теби деца откривају очеву голотињу, у теби обешчашћују жене док су обредно нечисте. 11 Један чини гадост са женом свога ближњег, други срамотно скрнави своју снаху, а трећи опет обешчашћује своју сестру, ћерку свога оца. 12 У теби примају мито да проливају крв, позајмљујеш ради користи и с каматом, и непоштено зарађујеш на своме ближњем изнуђујући од њега, а мене си заборавио – говори Господ Бог.’
13 Ево, ударићу дланом о длан због непоштеног добитка који си стекао, и крвопролића које се чини у теби. 14 Хоће ли ти срце остати мирно и хоће ли остати снаге у твојим рукама у дан када будем поступао с тобом? То сам ја, Господ, рекао и то ћу учинити. 15 Јер, расејаћу те међу народе и расути те по земљама, и докрајчићу твоју нечистоту. 16 А кад оскрнавиш себе у очима народа, знаћеш да сам ја Господ Бог.“
17 Дође ми реч Господња: 18 „Сине човечији, дом Израиљев ми је постао шљака; сви су бронза, калај, гвожђе и олово у пећи, а постали су шљака од сребра. 19 Стога говори Господ Бог: ’Зато што сте сви постали шљака, ево, скупићу вас усред Јерусалима. 20 И као што се скупља бронза, гвожђе, олово и калај у пећи, па се око тога распири огањ да се истопи, тако ћу вас скупити у свом гневу и јарости, положити вас и растопити. 21 А кад вас скупим, дунућу на вас огањ мога гнева и растопити вас у њему. 22 Као што се сребро топи у пећи, тако ћете и ви бити растопљени у њему. Тада ћете знати да сам то ја, Господ, излио свој гнев на вас.’“
23 Дође ми реч Господња: 24 „Сине човечији, реци јој: ’Ти си земља која није очишћена, на коју још није пала киша у дан гнева.’ 25 Удружили су се њени пророци у њој као лавови што ричу и раздиру плен. Они прождиру душе, узимају благо и драгоцености, и умножавају удовице усред ње. 26 Свештеници њени крше мој Закон и скрнаве моје светиње; не праве разлику између светог и несветог, и не поучавају да се прави разлика између нечистог и чистог. Они затварају очи кад се крше моје суботе, те сам и ја без части међу њима. 27 Кнезови су њени у њој као вуци који раздиру плен; проливају крв и упропашћују душе ради непоштеног добитка. 28 Пророци њени крече у бело; замазују им очи доносећи празна виђења и проричући им лаж. Они говоре: говори Господ Бог, а Господ није говорио. 29 Народ земље одао се насилништву и пљачки; тлаче сиромаха и убогога и бесправно злостављају странца.
30 Тражио сам међу њима човека који ће поправити зид и стати у процеп преда мном ради земље, да је не бих уништио. И нисам га нашао. 31 Зато ћу излити на њих свој гнев, истребићу их огњем своје јарости, и свалићу им на главу њихова дела – говори Господ Бог.“

Покажи му све његове гнусобе 3 и реци: ‚Овако каже Господ ГОСПОД: Твој час је дошао, граде који проливаш крв по себи и каљаш се правећи идоле. 4 Крив си због крви коју си пролио и што си се укаљао идолима које си направио. Учинио си да ти се окончају дани и заврше године. Зато ћу те учинити руглом међу народима и ругалицом међу свим земљама. 5 Ругаће ти се и они близу и они далеко, срамни граде, препун немира.

Ти зеленашиш и узимаш камату и стичеш непоштену добит отимајући од ближњих. А мене си заборавио, говори Господ ГОСПОД.
13 »‚Зато ћу, ево, пљеснути рукама на непоштени добитак који си стекао и на крв коју си проливао по себи. 14 Хоћеш ли имати храбрости у срцу и снаге у рукама онога дана када кренем на тебе? Ја, ГОСПОД, говорио сам, и ја ћу то учинити. 15 Расућу те међу народима и расејати те по земљама и стаћу на крај твојој нечистоти. 16 Када будеш укаљан наочиглед другим народима, тада ћеш знати да сам ја ГОСПОД.‘«
17 Дође ми реч ГОСПОДЊА: 18 »Сине човечији, израелски народ за мене је постао троска. Сви су они бакар, калај, гвожђе и олово остављени у пећи – само троска од сребра. 19 Зато овако каже Господ ГОСПОД: ‚Пошто сте сви постали троска, сакупићу вас у Јерусалиму. 20 Као што се сребро, бакар, гвожђе, олово и калај сакупљају у пећи, па се уоколо распири ватра да се све растопи, тако ћу ја вас сакупити у свом гневу и срџби, ставити вас усред града и истопити вас. 21 Сакупићу вас и распирити око вас своју огњену срџбу, и ви ћете се истопити у њему. 22 Као што се сребро истопи у пећи, тако ћете се ви истопити у граду. Тада ћете знати да сам ја, ГОСПОД, излио своју срџбу на вас.‘«
23 Дође ми реч ГОСПОДЊА: 24 »Сине човечији, реци земљи: ‚Ти си земља која још није чиста. Још на тебе није пала киша на дан срџбе.‘ 25 У њој су се њени кнежеви заверили да, попут ричућег лава који раздире плен, прождиру људе, отимају благо и драгоцености и од многих жена учине удовице. 26 Њени свештеници крше мој Закон и скврнаве моје свете предмете, не разликују свето од обичног, не уче да има разлике између нечистог и чистог и занемарују моје суботе, па ме тако каљају међу народом. 27 Њени поглавари су као вукови који раздиру свој плен: проливају крв и убијају људе да се докопају непоштене добити. 28 Њени пророци све то прекривају кречом испразних виђења и лажних гатања, говорећи: ‚Овако каже Господ ГОСПОД‘ када ГОСПОД није говорио. 29 Народ ове земље бави се изнудом и пљачком, угњетава сиромаха и убогога и злоставља дошљака, ускраћујући им правду.
30 »Тражио сам међу њима човека који би изградио зид и стао пред мене у пролом у њему да брани земљу, да је не затрем, али не нађох никога. 31 Зато ћу излити своју срџбу на њих и затрти их огњем свога гнева, сручујући им на главу све што су чинили, говори Господ ГОСПОД.«

22 Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 2 “Now, son of man, (A)will you judge, will you judge (B)the bloody city? Yes, show her all her abominations! 3 Then say, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “The city sheds (C)blood in her own midst, that her time may come; and she makes idols within herself to defile herself. 4 You have become guilty by the blood which you have (D)shed, and have defiled yourself with the idols which you have made. You have caused your days to draw near, and have come to the end of your years; (E)therefore I have made you a reproach to the nations, and a mockery to all countries. 5 Those near and those far from you will mock you as [a]infamous and full of tumult.
6 “Look, (F)the princes of Israel: each one has used his [b]power to shed blood in you. 7 In you they have (G)made light of father and mother; in your midst they have (H)oppressed the stranger; in you they have mistreated the [c]fatherless and the widow. 8 You have despised My holy things and (I)profaned My Sabbaths. 9 In you are (J)men who slander to cause bloodshed; (K)in you are those who eat on the mountains; in your midst they commit lewdness. 10 In you men (L)uncover their fathers’ nakedness; in you they violate women who are (M)set apart during their impurity. 11 One commits abomination (N)with his neighbor’s wife; (O)another lewdly defiles his daughter-in-law; and another in you violates his sister, his father’s (P)daughter. 12 In you (Q)they take bribes to shed blood; (R)you take usury and increase; you have made profit from your neighbors by extortion, and (S)have forgotten Me,” says the Lord God.
13 “Behold, therefore, I (T)beat My fists at the dishonest profit which you have made, and at the bloodshed which has been in your midst. 14 (U)Can your heart endure, or can your hands remain strong, in the days when I shall deal with you? (V)I, the Lord, have spoken, and will do it. 15 (W)I will scatter you among the nations, disperse you throughout the countries, and (X)remove your filthiness completely from you. 16 You shall defile yourself in the sight of the nations; then (Y)you shall know that I am the Lord.” ’ ”
Israel in the Furnace
17 The word of the Lord came to me, saying, 18 “Son of man, (Z)the house of Israel has become dross to Me; they are all bronze, tin, iron, and lead, in the midst of a (AA)furnace; they have become dross from silver. 19 Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Because you have all become dross, therefore behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. 20 As men gather silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin into the midst of a furnace, to blow fire on it, to (AB)melt it; so I will gather you in My anger and in My fury, and I will leave you there and melt you. 21 Yes, I will gather you and blow on you with the fire of My wrath, and you shall be melted in its midst. 22 As silver is melted in the midst of a furnace, so shall you be melted in its midst; then you shall know that I, the Lord, have (AC)poured out My fury on you.’ ”

23 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 24 “Son of man, say to her: ‘You are a land that is (AD)not [d]cleansed or rained on in the day of indignation.’ 25 (AE)The conspiracy of her [e]prophets in her midst is like a roaring lion tearing the prey; they (AF)have devoured [f]people; (AG)they have taken treasure and precious things; they have made many widows in her midst. 26 (AH)Her priests have [g]violated My law and (AI)profaned My holy things; they have not (AJ)distinguished between the holy and unholy, nor have they made known the difference between the unclean and the clean; and they have hidden their eyes from My Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them. 27 Her (AK)princes in her midst are like wolves tearing the prey, to shed blood, to destroy [h]people, and to get dishonest gain. 28 (AL)Her prophets plastered them with untempered mortar, (AM)seeing false visions, and divining (AN)lies for them, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord God,’ when the Lord had not spoken. 29 The people of the land have used oppressions, committed robbery, and mistreated the poor and needy; and they wrongfully (AO)oppress the stranger. 30 (AP)So I sought for a man among them who would (AQ)make a wall, and (AR)stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. 31 Therefore I have (AS)poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; and I have recompensed (AT)their deeds on their own heads,” says the Lord God.

Judgment on Jerusalem’s Sins
22 The word of the Lord came to me:
2 “Son of man, will you judge her? Will you judge this city of bloodshed?(A) Then confront her with all her detestable practices(B) 3 and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: You city that brings on herself doom by shedding blood(C) in her midst and defiles herself by making idols, 4 you have become guilty because of the blood you have shed(D) and have become defiled by the idols you have made. You have brought your days to a close, and the end of your years has come.(E) Therefore I will make you an object of scorn(F) to the nations and a laughingstock to all the countries.(G) 5 Those who are near and those who are far away will mock you, you infamous city, full of turmoil.(H)
6 “‘See how each of the princes of Israel who are in you uses his power to shed blood.(I) 7 In you they have treated father and mother with contempt;(J) in you they have oppressed the foreigner(K) and mistreated the fatherless and the widow.(L) 8 You have despised my holy things and desecrated my Sabbaths.(M) 9 In you are slanderers(N) who are bent on shedding blood;(O) in you are those who eat at the mountain shrines(P) and commit lewd acts.(Q) 10 In you are those who dishonor their father’s bed;(R) in you are those who violate women during their period,(S) when they are ceremonially unclean.(T) 11 In you one man commits a detestable offense with his neighbor’s wife,(U) another shamefully defiles his daughter-in-law,(V) and another violates his sister,(W) his own father’s daughter.(X) 12 In you are people who accept bribes(Y) to shed blood; you take interest(Z) and make a profit from the poor. You extort unjust gain from your neighbors.(AA) And you have forgotten(AB) me, declares the Sovereign Lord.(AC)
13 “‘I will surely strike my hands(AD) together at the unjust gain(AE) you have made and at the blood(AF) you have shed in your midst.(AG) 14 Will your courage endure(AH) or your hands(AI) be strong in the day I deal with you? I the Lord have spoken,(AJ) and I will do it.(AK) 15 I will disperse you among the nations and scatter(AL) you through the countries; and I will put an end to(AM) your uncleanness.(AN) 16 When you have been defiled[a] in the eyes of the nations, you will know that I am the Lord.’”
17 Then the word of the Lord came to me: 18 “Son of man, the people of Israel have become dross(AO) to me; all of them are the copper, tin, iron and lead left inside a furnace.(AP) They are but the dross of silver.(AQ) 19 Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: ‘Because you have all become dross,(AR) I will gather you into Jerusalem. 20 As silver, copper, iron, lead and tin are gathered into a furnace to be melted with a fiery blast, so will I gather you in my anger and my wrath and put you inside the city and melt you.(AS) 21 I will gather you and I will blow(AT) on you with my fiery wrath, and you will be melted inside her.(AU) 22 As silver is melted(AV) in a furnace, so you will be melted inside her, and you will know that I the Lord have poured out my wrath(AW) on you.’”(AX)
23 Again the word of the Lord came to me: 24 “Son of man, say to the land, ‘You are a land that has not been cleansed or rained on in the day of wrath.’(AY) 25 There is a conspiracy(AZ) of her princes[b] within her like a roaring lion(BA) tearing its prey; they devour people,(BB) take treasures and precious things and make many widows(BC) within her. 26 Her priests do violence to my law(BD) and profane my holy things; they do not distinguish between the holy and the common;(BE) they teach that there is no difference between the unclean and the clean;(BF) and they shut their eyes to the keeping of my Sabbaths, so that I am profaned(BG) among them.(BH) 27 Her officials(BI) within her are like wolves(BJ) tearing their prey; they shed blood and kill people(BK) to make unjust gain.(BL) 28 Her prophets whitewash(BM) these deeds for them by false visions and lying divinations.(BN) They say, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says’—when the Lord has not spoken.(BO) 29 The people of the land practice extortion and commit robbery;(BP) they oppress the poor and needy and mistreat the foreigner,(BQ) denying them justice.(BR)
30 “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall(BS) and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.(BT) 31 So I will pour out my wrath on them and consume them with my fiery anger,(BU) bringing down(BV) on their own heads all they have done, declares the Sovereign Lord.(BW)”
