25 Слово, което биде към Иеремия за цял иудейски народ, в четвъртата година на иудейския цар Иоакима, Иосиев син, – тая беше първа година на вавилонския цар Навуходоносора, –
2 и което пророк Иеремия изрече към цял иудейски народ и към всички иерусалимски жители, като каза:
3 от тринайсетата година на иудейския цар Иосия, син Амонов, до днес, – ето вече двайсет и три години, – биде към мене слово Господе, и аз от ранно утро ви говорих, – и вие не послушахте.
4 (A)Господ праща при вас всички Свои раби – пророците, от ранно утро праща, – и вие не послушахте и не наклонявахте ухо да слушате.
5 (B)Вам казваха: „отвърнете се всеки от лошия си път и от лошите си дела и живейте в земята, която Господ даде вам и на вашите отци от века до века;
6 (C)и не ходете след други богове, да им служите и да им се покланяте, и не Ме разгневявайте с делата на ръцете си, и не ще ви сторя зло“.
7 Но вие Ме не послушахте, казва Господ, и Ме гневихте с делата на ръцете си, за зло на себе си.
8 Затова тъй казва Господ Саваот: задето не послушахте Моите думи,
9 (D)ето, Аз ще пратя и ще взема всички северни племена, казва Господ, и ще пратя до вавилонския цар Навуходоносора, Моя раб, и ще ги доведа против тая земя и против жителите ѝ и против всички околни народи; и съвсем ще ги изтребя и ще ги направя за ужас, за присмех и вечно запустение.
10 (E)И ще прекратя у тях глас на радост и глас на веселие, глас на младоженец и глас на невеста, звук от воденични камъни и светлина от светило.
11 И цялата тая земя ще стане пустиня и ужас; и тия народи ще служат на вавилонския цар седемдесет години.
12 (F)И когато се изпълнят седемдесет години, ще накажа вавилонския цар и онзи народ, казва Господ, за тяхното нечестив, и Халдейската земя, и ще я направя вечна пустиня.
13 И ще изпълня над тая земя всички Мои думи, които съм изрекъл против нея, всичко написано в тая книга, което Иеремия пророчески изрече против тия народи.
14 (G)Защото и тях ще поробят многобройни народи и велики царе; и Аз ще им въздам според техните постъпки и според делата на ръцете им.
15 (H)Защото тъй ми каза Господ, Бог Израилев: вземи из ръката Ми тая чаша с вино от ярост и напои от нея всички народи, при които те пращам.
16 (I)И те ще пият – и ще политат и ще обезумеят, щом видят меча, който Аз ще пратя против тях.
17 И взех чашата из ръката Господня и напоих от нея всички народи, при които Господ ме прати:
18 (J)Иерусалим и иудейските градове, и царете му и князете му, за да ги опустоша и направя ужас, присмех и проклятие, както се вижда сега,
19 (K)фараона, египетския цар, слугите му, князете му и целия му народ,
20 целия смесен народ, и всички царе на земя Уц, и всички царе на Филистимската земя, Аскалон и Газа, Екрон и остатъците на Азот,
21 (L)Е дома, Моава и Амоновите синове,
22 всички царе на Тир и всички царе на Сидон, царете над островите, които са отвъд морето,
23 (M)Дедана, Тема, Буза и всички, които стрижат скулуфите си,
24 всички царе на Арабия и всички царе на разноплеменните народи, които живеят в пустинята,
25 (N)всички царе на Зимврия и всички царе на Елам, всички царе на Милия,
26 (O)всички царе на север, близки един до друг и далечни, и всички земни царства, що са по лицето на земята, а царят на Сесах ще пие след тях.
27 (P)И кажи им: тъй казва Господ Саваот, Бог Израилев: пийте и се опийте, и повръщайте и паднете, и не ставайте, кога видите меча, който ще пратя против вас.
28 Ако пък се откажат да вземат чашата из ръката ти, за да пият, то кажи им: тъй казва Господ Саваот: непременно ще пиете.
29 (Q)Защото, ето на тоя град, над който се призова Моето име, Аз почвам да нанасям нещастие; та вие ли ще останете ненаказани? Не, не ще останете ненаказани; защото Аз призовавам меч против всички, що живеят на земята, казва Господ Саваот.
30 (R)Затова пророкувай им всички тия думи и им кажи: Господ ще прогърми от висинето и от Своето свето жилище ще издигне глас; страшно ще прогърми против Своето селище; както ония, що тъпчат в лин, ще извика против всички, що живеят по земята.
31 (S)Шумът ще достигне земните краища, защото Господ се бори с народите: Той ще се съди с всяка плът, нечестивите ще предаде на меч, казва Господ.
32 Тъй казва Господ Саваот: ето, нещастието ще минава от народ към народ, и голям вихър ще се подигне от краищата земни.
33 (T)И в оня ден поразени от Господа ще има от единия край на земята до другия; те не ще бъдат оплакани, нито прибрани и погребани, ще бъдат тор по земното лице.
34 (U)Ридайте, пастири, и стенете, и посипете се с пепел, вождове на стадото: защото се изпълниха дните ви, за да бъдете заклани и разпилени, и ще паднете като скъпа съдина.
35 И не ще има убежище за пастирите и спасение – за вождовете на стадото.
36 Чува се писък от пастирите и ридание – от вождовете на стадото, понеже Господ опустоши пасбищата им.
37 Яростта на Господния гняв изтребя мирните селища.
38 Той остави жилището Си като лъв; и земята им стана пустиня от яростта на опустошителя и от пламенния Му гняв.

25 (A)Ето словото, което беше отправено от Господа към Йеремия в четвъртата година на юдейския цар Йоаким, Йосиевия син, относно целия юдейски народ – а тя беше първата година на вавилонския цар Навуходоносор – 2 и което пророк Йеремия произнесе пред целия юдейски народ и пред всички жители на Йерусалим, като каза: 3 „От тринадесетата година на юдейския цар Йосия, Амоновия син, и до днес, през тези двадесет и три години словото на Господа беше отправяно към мене, а аз постоянно ви говорех от ранно утро, но вие не слушахте. 4 Освен това Господ изпращаше при вас всички Свои служители – пророците, от ранно утро ги изпращаше, но вие не слушахте и не свеждахте ухото си да слушате. 5 Те казваха: ‘Върнете се, всеки от нечестивия си път и от злите си дела, и ще живеете вечно в страната, която Господ даде на вас и на предците ви завинаги.’ 6 (B)А Господ казваше: ‘И не ходете след други богове да им служите и да им се покланяте, и не Ме разгневявайте с делата на ръцете си, а Аз няма да ви сторя зло. 7 Но вие не Ме послушахте – казва Господ, – като Ме предизвиквахте с делата на вашите ръце за ваша злочестина.’
8 Затова така казва Господ Вседържител: ‘Тъй като не послушахте Моите думи, 9 ето Аз изпращам и ще взема всички северни народи – казва Господ, – както и Своя слуга, вавилонския цар Навуходоносор, и ще ги доведа против тази страна и против нейните жители, и против всички тези народи наоколо. Ще ги опустоша и ще ги обрека на присмех и подигравка, и ще ги обърна във вечна пустиня. 10 (C)И ще прекъсна гласа на радост и гласа на веселие, гласа на младоженеца и гласа на невестата, шума от мелничния камък и светлината на лампата. 11 (D)И цялата тази земя ще бъде пустиня и за ужас. И тези народи ще робуват на вавилонския цар седемдесет години. 12 А когато се изпълнят седемдесет години, ще накажа вавилонския цар и онзи народ за тяхната вина, също и халдейската земя, която ще обърна във вечна пустиня. 13 И ще докарам върху онази земя всичко, което съм говорил против нея, което е записано в тази книга, което Йеремия пророкуваше против всички народи. 14 Защото много народи и велики царе ще покорят и тях. И ще им въздам според делата им и извършеното от ръцете им’.“
Чашата на Господния гняв
15 (E)Йеремия прибави: „Защото така ми каза Господ, Израилевият Бог: ‘Вземи от ръката Ми тази чаша с виното на гнева и дай да пият от него всички народи, при които Аз те изпращам. 16 И те ще пият и ще политат, и ще обезумеят поради меча, който ще изпратя против тях.’
17 Тогава взех чашата от ръката на Господа и напоих всичките народи, против които Господ ме беше изпратил: 18 Йерусалим и градовете на Юдея, царете им, за да ги превърна в развалини, за ужас, за присмех и проклятие, както са до днес, 19 фараона, египетския цар, с придворните му, князете му и целия му народ, 20 всички смесени народи и всички царе на земята Уц, и всички царе на филистимската земя с Аскалон, Газа, Екрон и остатъка от Азот; 21 Едом, Моав и амонците, 22 и всички царе на Тир, и всички сидонски царе, и царете на крайбрежията отвъд морето, 23 и Дедан, Теча, Буз и всички, които стрижат в кръг косата си, 24 всички арабски царе и всички царе на разноплеменните народи, които населяват пустинята, 25 всички царе на Зимри и всички царе на Елам, и всички царе на Мидия, 26 всички царе от севера, близките и далечните, един след друг, и всички земни царства, които са по земята, а царят на Шешах ще пие след тях.“
27 Господ ми рече още: „И ще им кажеш: ‘Така говори Господ Вседържител, Израилевият Бог: «Пийте и се опийте, и повръщайте, и паднете, и не ставайте вече пред лицето на меча, който ще изпратя всред вас»’.“ 28 А като откажат да вземат чашата от ръката ти и да пият, тогава да им кажеш: „Така казва Господ Вседържител: ‘Непременно ще пиете!’ 29 (F)Защото ето Аз започвам да докарвам бедствие на града, който се нарича с Моето име, а вие ли ще останете съвсем ненаказани? Няма да останете ненаказани, защото Аз призовавам меч върху всички земни жители“, казва Господ Вседържител.
30 (G)И Господ добави: „Затова ти пророкувай против тях всички тези думи и да им кажеш: ‘Господ ще прогърми от висините и ще извиси гласа Си от святото Си обиталище, ще проехти силно против паството Си, както онези, които тъпчат грозде, против всички жители на земята. 31 Ехото ще стигне до краищата на земята, защото Господ има съдебен спор с народите. Той ще се съди с всяка твар, ще предаде нечестивите на меч’ – казва Господ.“
32 Така казва Господ Вседържител: „Ето зло ще излезе от народ към народ. И голям ураган ще се вдигне от краищата на земята.“ 33 (H)Йеремия говори още: „А убитите от Господа в онзи ден ще лежат от единия край на земята до другия край на земята. Те няма да бъдат оплакани, нито прибрани, нито погребани – ще бъдат за тор по повърхността на земята.
34 Радвайте се, пастири, викайте, а вие, господари на стадото, посипете се с пепел, защото идва времето да бъдете клани и разпръснати и тогава ще паднете като скъп съд. 35 И пастирите няма да имат убежище, господарите на стадото – избавление. 36 Чуват се писъкът на пастирите и риданието на господарите на стадото, защото Господ опустошава пасбището им. 37 И мирните кошари са заглъхнали от пламенния гняв на Господа. 38 Той е оставил местопребиваването Си – Обещаната земя, като лъв, защото земята е в ужас пред лицето на опустошителя и пред силния Му гняв.“

Seventy Years of Captivity
25 The word came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim(A) son of Josiah king of Judah, which was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar(B) king of Babylon. 2 So Jeremiah the prophet said to all the people of Judah(C) and to all those living in Jerusalem: 3 For twenty-three years—from the thirteenth year of Josiah(D) son of Amon king of Judah until this very day—the word of the Lord has come to me and I have spoken to you again and again,(E) but you have not listened.(F)
4 And though the Lord has sent all his servants the prophets(G) to you again and again, you have not listened or paid any attention.(H) 5 They said, “Turn(I) now, each of you, from your evil ways and your evil practices, and you can stay in the land(J) the Lord gave to you and your ancestors for ever and ever. 6 Do not follow other gods(K) to serve and worship them; do not arouse my anger with what your hands have made. Then I will not harm you.”
7 “But you did not listen to me,” declares the Lord, “and you have aroused(L) my anger with what your hands have made,(M) and you have brought harm(N) to yourselves.”
8 Therefore the Lord Almighty says this: “Because you have not listened to my words, 9 I will summon(O) all the peoples of the north(P) and my servant(Q) Nebuchadnezzar(R) king of Babylon,” declares the Lord, “and I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants and against all the surrounding nations. I will completely destroy[a](S) them and make them an object of horror and scorn,(T) and an everlasting ruin.(U) 10 I will banish from them the sounds(V) of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom,(W) the sound of millstones(X) and the light of the lamp.(Y) 11 This whole country will become a desolate wasteland,(Z) and these nations will serve(AA) the king of Babylon seventy years.(AB)
12 “But when the seventy years(AC) are fulfilled, I will punish the king of Babylon(AD) and his nation, the land of the Babylonians,[b] for their guilt,” declares the Lord, “and will make it desolate(AE) forever. 13 I will bring on that land all the things I have spoken against it, all that are written(AF) in this book and prophesied by Jeremiah against all the nations. 14 They themselves will be enslaved(AG) by many nations(AH) and great kings; I will repay(AI) them according to their deeds and the work of their hands.”
The Cup of God’s Wrath
15 This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, said to me: “Take from my hand this cup(AJ) filled with the wine of my wrath and make all the nations to whom I send(AK) you drink it. 16 When they drink(AL) it, they will stagger(AM) and go mad(AN) because of the sword(AO) I will send among them.”
17 So I took the cup from the Lord’s hand and made all the nations to whom he sent(AP) me drink it: 18 Jerusalem(AQ) and the towns of Judah, its kings and officials, to make them a ruin(AR) and an object of horror and scorn,(AS) a curse[c](AT)—as they are today;(AU) 19 Pharaoh king(AV) of Egypt,(AW) his attendants, his officials and all his people, 20 and all the foreign people there; all the kings of Uz;(AX) all the kings of the Philistines(AY) (those of Ashkelon,(AZ) Gaza,(BA) Ekron, and the people left at Ashdod); 21 Edom,(BB) Moab(BC) and Ammon;(BD) 22 all the kings of Tyre(BE) and Sidon;(BF) the kings of the coastlands(BG) across the sea; 23 Dedan,(BH) Tema,(BI) Buz(BJ) and all who are in distant places[d];(BK) 24 all the kings of Arabia(BL) and all the kings of the foreign people(BM) who live in the wilderness; 25 all the kings of Zimri,(BN) Elam(BO) and Media;(BP) 26 and all the kings of the north,(BQ) near and far, one after the other—all the kingdoms(BR) on the face of the earth. And after all of them, the king of Sheshak[e](BS) will drink it too.
27 “Then tell them, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Drink, get drunk(BT) and vomit, and fall to rise no more because of the sword(BU) I will send among you.’ 28 But if they refuse to take the cup from your hand and drink(BV), tell them, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty says: You must drink it! 29 See, I am beginning to bring disaster(BW) on the city that bears my Name,(BX) and will you indeed go unpunished?(BY) You will not go unpunished, for I am calling down a sword(BZ) on all(CA) who live on the earth,(CB) declares the Lord Almighty.’
30 “Now prophesy all these words against them and say to them:
“‘The Lord will roar(CC) from on high;
he will thunder(CD) from his holy dwelling(CE)
and roar mightily against his land.
He will shout like those who tread(CF) the grapes,
shout against all who live on the earth.
31 The tumult(CG) will resound to the ends of the earth,
for the Lord will bring charges(CH) against the nations;
he will bring judgment(CI) on all(CJ) mankind
and put the wicked to the sword,(CK)’”
declares the Lord.
32 This is what the Lord Almighty says:
“Look! Disaster(CL) is spreading
from nation to nation;(CM)
a mighty storm(CN) is rising
from the ends of the earth.”(CO)
33 At that time those slain(CP) by the Lord will be everywhere—from one end of the earth to the other. They will not be mourned or gathered(CQ) up or buried,(CR) but will be like dung lying on the ground.
34 Weep and wail, you shepherds;(CS)
roll(CT) in the dust, you leaders of the flock.
For your time to be slaughtered(CU) has come;
you will fall like the best of the rams.[f](CV)
35 The shepherds will have nowhere to flee,
the leaders of the flock no place to escape.(CW)
36 Hear the cry(CX) of the shepherds,(CY)
the wailing of the leaders of the flock,
for the Lord is destroying their pasture.
37 The peaceful meadows will be laid waste
because of the fierce anger of the Lord.
38 Like a lion(CZ) he will leave his lair,
and their land will become desolate(DA)
because of the sword[g] of the oppressor(DB)
and because of the Lord’s fierce anger.(DC)

25 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that was the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon;
2 The which Jeremiah the prophet spake unto all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying,
3 From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the Lord hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened.
4 And the Lord hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.
5 They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the Lord hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:
6 And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.
7 Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the Lord; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.
8 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts; Because ye have not heard my words,
9 Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the Lord, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.
10 Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.
11 And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
12 And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the Lord, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.
13 And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.
14 For many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of them also: and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands.
15 For thus saith the Lord God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.
16 And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.
17 Then took I the cup at the Lord's hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the Lord had sent me:
18 To wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as it is this day;
19 Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people;
20 And all the mingled people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod,
21 Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon,
22 And all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which are beyond the sea,
23 Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that are in the utmost corners,
24 And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert,
25 And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes,
26 And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.
27 Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.
28 And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink.
29 For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the Lord of hosts.
30 Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The Lord shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.
31 A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the Lord hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the Lord.
32 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.
33 And the slain of the Lord shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.
34 Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel.
35 And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.
36 A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and an howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard: for the Lord hath spoiled their pasture.
37 And the peaceable habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger of the Lord.
38 He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger.
