6 Eu sou o Deus do seu pai. O Deus de Abraão, o Deus de Isaque e o Deus de Jacó.
Moisés cobriu o rosto porque teve medo de olhar diretamente para Deus. 7 E o SENHOR disse:
—Eu tenho visto o sofrimento do meu povo no Egito. Eu ouvi os seus lamentos, causados pelos seus opressores, e sei quanto eles estão sofrendo. 8 Por isso, decidi descer e livrar o meu povo do poder dos egípcios. Vou tirá-lo daquela terra e levá-lo para uma terra fértil e espaçosa, uma terra boa para semear e para criar gado[a]. Vou levá-lo para a terra dos cananeus, heteus, amorreus, ferezeus, heveus e jebuseus.

6 Then he said, “I am the God of your father,[a] the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.”(A) At this, Moses hid(B) his face, because he was afraid to look at God.(C)
7 The Lord said, “I have indeed seen(D) the misery(E) of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned(F) about their suffering.(G) 8 So I have come down(H) to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land,(I) a land flowing with milk and honey(J)—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites(K) and Jebusites.(L)
