Greeting to the Seven Churches

John to the seven churches that are in Asia:

Grace to you and peace from (A)him (B)who is and (C)who was and who is to come, and from (D)the seven spirits who are before his throne, and from Jesus Christ (E)the faithful witness, (F)the firstborn of the dead, and (G)the ruler of kings on earth.

To (H)him who loves us and (I)has freed us from our sins by his blood and made us (J)a kingdom, (K)priests to (L)his God and Father, to him be (M)glory and (N)dominion forever and ever. Amen. Behold, (O)he is coming with the clouds, and (P)every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail[a] on account of him. Even so. Amen.

(Q)“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, (R)“who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now (A)the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers[a] has been thrown down, (B)who accuses them day and night before our God. 11 And (C)they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for (D)they loved not their lives (E)even unto death. 12 Therefore, (F)rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But (G)woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because (H)he knows that his time is short!”

13 And when the dragon saw that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued (I)the woman who had given birth to the male child. 14 But the woman was given the two (J)wings of the great eagle so that she might fly from the serpent (K)into the wilderness, to the place where she is to be nourished (L)for a time, and times, and half a time. 15 The serpent poured water (M)like a river out of his mouth after the woman, to sweep her away with a flood. 16 But the earth came to the help of the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed the river that the dragon had poured from his mouth. 17 Then the dragon became furious with the woman and went off (N)to make war on the rest of (O)her offspring, (P)on those who keep the commandments of God and hold to (Q)the testimony of Jesus. And he stood[b] on the sand of the sea.

The Marriage Supper of the Lamb

Then I heard what seemed to be (A)the voice of a great multitude, like (B)the roar of many waters and (C)like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out,

“Hallelujah!
For the Lord our God
    the Almighty (D)reigns.

The New Heaven and the New Earth

21 Then I saw (A)a new heaven and a new earth, for (B)the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. The Resurrection

20 (A)Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that (B)the stone had been taken away from the tomb. So she ran and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, (C)the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and (D)we do not know where they have laid him.” (E)So Peter went out with the other disciple, and they were going toward the tomb. Both of them were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. And stooping to look in, he saw (F)the linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in. Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there, and (G)the face cloth, which had been on Jesus'[a] head, not lying with the linen cloths but folded up in a place by itself. Then the other disciple, (H)who had reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; for as yet (I)they did not understand the Scripture, (J)that he must rise from the dead. 10 Then the disciples went back to their homes.

Jesus and the Beloved Apostle

20 Peter turned and saw (A)the disciple whom Jesus loved following them, (B)the one who also had leaned back against him during the supper and had said, “Lord, who is it that is going to betray you?” 21 When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, “Lord, what about this man?” 22 Jesus said to him, “If it is my will that he remain (C)until (D)I come, what is that to you? (E)You follow me!” 23 So the saying spread abroad among (F)the brothers[a] that this disciple was not to die; yet Jesus did not say to him that he was not to die, but, “If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you?”

24 This is the disciple (G)who is bearing witness about these things, and who has written these things, and (H)we know (I)that his testimony is true.

25 Now (J)there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that (K)the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.
