My Soul Longs for the Courts of the Lord

⁶ “For ^(A)you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you to be ^(B)a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. ⁷ It was not because you were more in number than any other people that the Lord set his love on you and chose you, for you were the fewest of all peoples, ⁸ but ^(C)it is because the Lord loves you and is keeping ^(D)the oath that he swore to your fathers, that the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. ⁹ Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, ^(E)the faithful God ^(F)who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations,

To the Church in Philadelphia

⁷ “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: ‘The words of ^(A)the holy one, ^(B)the true one, ^(C)who has the key of David, ^(D)who opens and no one will shut, who shuts and no one opens.

⁸ “‘I know your works. Behold, I have set before you ^(E)an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. ⁹ Behold, I will make those of ^(F)the synagogue of Satan who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie—behold, ^(G)I will make them come and bow down before your feet, and they will learn that ^(H)I have loved you. ^10 (I)Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try ^(J)those who dwell on the earth. ^11 (K)I am coming soon. ^(L)Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize ^(M)your crown. ^12 (N)The one who conquers, I will make him ^(O)a pillar in the temple of my God. Never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him ^(P)the name of my God, and ^(Q)the name of the city of my God, ^(R)the new Jerusalem, ^(S)which comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own ^(T)new name. ^13 (U)He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’

The High Priestly Prayer

17 When Jesus had spoken these words, ^(A)he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, ^(B)the hour has come; ^(C)glorify your Son that the Son may ^(D)glorify you,

¹³ But now ^(A)I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have ^(B)my joy fulfilled in themselves. ^14 (C)I have given them your word, and ^(D)the world has hated them ^(E)because they are not of the world, ^(F)just as I am not of the world. ¹⁵ I ^(G)do not ask that you ^(H)take them out of the world, but that you ^(I)keep them from ^(J)the evil one.^{[a] 16 (K)}They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. ^17 (L)Sanctify them^[b] in the truth; ^(M)your word is truth. ^18 (N)As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. ¹⁹ And ^(O)for their sake ^(P)I consecrate myself,^[c] that they also ^(Q)may be sanctified^[d] in truth.

²⁰ “I do not ^(R)ask for these only, but also for those ^(S)who will believe in me through their word, ^21 (T)that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that ^(U)they also may be in ^(V)us, so that the world ^(W)may believe that you have sent me. ^22 (X)The glory that you have given me ^(Y)I have given to them, ^(Z)that they may be one even as we are one, ^23 (AA)I in them and you in me, ^(AB)that they may become perfectly one, ^(AC)so that the world may know that you sent me and ^(AD)loved them even as ^(AE)you loved me. ²⁴ Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be ^(AF)with me ^(AG)where I am, ^(AH)to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me ^(AI)before the foundation of the world. ^25 (AJ)O righteous Father, even though ^(AK)the world does not know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me. ^26 (AL)I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love ^(AM)with which you have loved me may be in them, and ^(AN)I in them.”
