Many seek the favour of a generous man,[a]

He pursues them with words, but does not have them.[b]

    he who keeps understanding will (K)discover good.

10 (N)It is not fitting for a fool to live in luxury,
    much less for (O)a slave to rule over princes.
11 (P)Good sense makes one slow to anger,
    and it is his glory to overlook an offence.

    but his (R)favour is like (S)dew on the grass.
