Ang mga Angkan ng mga Anak ni Noe(A)

10 Ito ang kasaysayan ng mga anak ni Noe na sina Shem, Ham at Jafet pagkatapos ng baha.

Ang mga anak na lalaki ni Jafet ay sina Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshec at Tiras. Sina Askenaz, Rifat at Togarma ang mga anak na lalaki ni Gomer. Ang kay Javan naman ay sina Elisha, Tarsis, Kitim at Rodanim.[a] Ito ang mga anak at apo ni Jafet. Sa kanila nagmula ang mga bansa sa baybay-dagat at mga pulo. Bawat isa'y nagkaroon ng sariling lupain at wika.

Ang mga anak na lalaki ni Ham ay sina Cus, Egipto, Libya at Canaan. Sina Seba, Havila, Sabta, Raama at Sabteca ang mga anak na lalaki ni Cus. Ang kay Raama naman ay sina Saba at Dedan. Si Nimrod, isa pang anak na lalaki ni Cus, ang kauna-unahan sa daigdig na naging dakila at makapangyarihan. Siya rin ang pinakamahusay na mangangaso dahil sa tulong ni Yahweh, kaya may kasabihang: “Maging mahusay ka sanang mangangaso tulad ni Nimrod, sa tulong ni Yahweh.” 10 Kabilang sa kauna-unahang kaharian na sakop niya ang Babilonia, Erec at Acad, pawang nasa lupain ng Sinar. 11 Mula rito'y pumunta siya sa Asiria at itinatag ang mga lunsod ng Nineve, Rohobot-ir, Cale 12 at ang Resen sa pagitan ng Nineve at Cale, ang pangunahing lunsod.

13 Si Egipto ang ama ng mga taga-Lud, Anam, Lehab at Naftuh, 14 gayon din ng mga taga-Patrus, Casluh at Caftor na pinagmulan ng mga Filisteo.

15 Ang panganay ni Canaan ay si Sidon na sinundan ni Het. 16 Kay Canaan din nagmula ang mga Jebuseo, Amoreo, Gergeseo, 17 Hivita, Araceo, Sineo, 18 Arvadeo, Zemareo at Hamateo. Simula noon, kung saan-saan nakarating ang mga Cananeo. 19 Mula sa Sidon, ang kanilang hangganan sa gawing timog ay umabot sa Gerar na malapit sa Gaza. Sa gawing silangan naman, umabot sila sa Sodoma, Gomorra, Adma at Zeboim na malapit sa Lasa. 20 Ito ang lahi ni Ham na nanirahan sa iba't ibang lupain at naging iba't ibang bansa na may kani-kanilang wika.

21 Si Shem, ang nakatatandang kapatid ni Jafet, ang pinagmulan naman ng lahi ni Heber.[b] 22 Ang kanyang mga anak ay sina Elam, Ashur, Arfaxad, Lud at Aram. 23 Ang mga anak naman ni Aram ay sina Uz, Hul, Geter at Mas. 24 Si Arfaxad ang ama ni Selah na ama naman ni Heber. 25 Dalawa ang anak ni Heber: ang isa'y tinawag na Peleg,[c] sapagkat noong panahon niya ay nagkahiwa-hiwalay ang mga tao sa daigdig; ang kapatid niya ay si Joctan. 26 Si Joctan ang ama nina Almodad, Shelef, Hazarmavet, Jerah, 27 Hadoram, Uzal, Dikla, 28 Obal, Abimael, Sheba, 29 Ofir, Havila at Jobab. Sila ang mga anak na lalaki ni Joctan. 30 Mula sa Mesha hanggang Sefar sa kaburulan sa silangan ang lawak ng kanilang lupain. 31 Ito ang lahi ni Shem ayon sa kani-kanilang angkan, wika at bansa.

32 Ito ang mga bansang nagmula sa mga anak ni Noe mula sa kanilang mga angkan. Sa kanila nagmula ang lahat ng bansa na lumaganap sa buong daigdig pagkatapos ng baha.

The Japhethites(D)

The sons[a] of Japheth:

Gomer,(E) Magog,(F) Madai, Javan,(G) Tubal,(H) Meshek(I) and Tiras.

The sons of Gomer:

Ashkenaz,(J) Riphath and Togarmah.(K)

The sons of Javan:

Elishah,(L) Tarshish,(M) the Kittites(N) and the Rodanites.[b] (From these the maritime peoples spread out into their territories by their clans within their nations, each with its own language.)(O)

The Hamites(P)

The sons of Ham:

Cush,(Q) Egypt, Put(R) and Canaan.(S)

The sons of Cush:

Seba,(T) Havilah,(U) Sabtah, Raamah(V) and Sabteka.

The sons of Raamah:

Sheba(W) and Dedan.(X)

Cush was the father[c] of Nimrod,(Y) who became a mighty warrior on the earth. He was a mighty(Z) hunter(AA) before the Lord; that is why it is said, “Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the Lord.” 10 The first centers of his kingdom were Babylon,(AB) Uruk,(AC) Akkad and Kalneh,(AD) in[d] Shinar.[e](AE) 11 From that land he went to Assyria,(AF) where he built Nineveh,(AG) Rehoboth Ir,[f] Calah 12 and Resen, which is between Nineveh and Calah—which is the great city.

13 Egypt was the father of

the Ludites, Anamites, Lehabites, Naphtuhites, 14 Pathrusites, Kasluhites (from whom the Philistines(AH) came) and Caphtorites.(AI)

15 Canaan(AJ) was the father of

Sidon(AK) his firstborn,[g](AL) and of the Hittites,(AM) 16 Jebusites,(AN) Amorites,(AO) Girgashites,(AP) 17 Hivites,(AQ) Arkites, Sinites, 18 Arvadites,(AR) Zemarites and Hamathites.(AS)

Later the Canaanite(AT) clans scattered 19 and the borders of Canaan(AU) reached from Sidon(AV) toward Gerar(AW) as far as Gaza,(AX) and then toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboyim,(AY) as far as Lasha.

20 These are the sons of Ham by their clans and languages, in their territories and nations.

The Semites(AZ)

21 Sons were also born to Shem, whose older brother was[h] Japheth; Shem was the ancestor of all the sons of Eber.(BA)

22 The sons of Shem:

Elam,(BB) Ashur,(BC) Arphaxad,(BD) Lud and Aram.(BE)

23 The sons of Aram:

Uz,(BF) Hul, Gether and Meshek.[i]

24 Arphaxad was the father of[j] Shelah,

and Shelah the father of Eber.(BG)

25 Two sons were born to Eber:

One was named Peleg,[k] because in his time the earth was divided; his brother was named Joktan.

26 Joktan was the father of

Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah, 27 Hadoram, Uzal,(BH) Diklah, 28 Obal, Abimael, Sheba,(BI) 29 Ophir,(BJ) Havilah and Jobab. All these were sons of Joktan.

30 The region where they lived stretched from Mesha toward Sephar, in the eastern hill country.

31 These are the sons of Shem by their clans and languages, in their territories and nations.

32 These are the clans of Noah’s sons,(BK) according to their lines of descent, within their nations. From these the nations spread out over the earth(BL) after the flood.
