Exodus 31:14-16

¹⁴ ‘Therefore, you shall keep the Sabbath. For it is holy to you. He who defiles it shall die the death. Therefore, whoever works thereon, that same person shall be cut off from among his people.

¹⁵ ‘Six days you shall work; but the seventh day is the Sabbath of holy rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day, shall die the death.

¹⁶ ‘Therefore, the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, so that they may observe this rest throughout their generations, for an everlasting Covenant.
