Deuteronomy 4:41-43

⁴¹ Then Moses separated three cities on this side of the Jordan, toward the rising Sun,

⁴² so that the slayer who had killed his neighbor unintentionally, and had not hated him in the past, could flee from there. That is to say, he might flee to one of these cities and live:

⁴³ Bezer in the wilderness in the plain country of the Reubenites, Ramoth in Gilead among the Gadites, and Golan in Bashan, among those of Manasseh.
