Deuteronomy 21:8-10
New English Translation
8 Do not blame[a] your people Israel whom you redeemed, O Lord, and do not hold them accountable for the bloodshed of an innocent person.”[b] Then atonement will be made for the bloodshed. 9 In this manner you will purge the guilt of innocent blood from among you, for you must do what is right before[c] the Lord.

New International Version
8 Accept this atonement for your people Israel, whom you have redeemed, Lord, and do not hold your people guilty of the blood of an innocent person.” Then the bloodshed will be atoned for,(A) 9 and you will have purged(B) from yourselves the guilt of shedding innocent blood, since you have done what is right in the eyes of the Lord.
