40 Therefore watch out, so that the thing spoken of (A)in the Prophets may not come upon you:
41 ‘(B)Look, you scoffers, and marvel, and [a]perish;
For I am accomplishing a work in your days,
A work which you will never believe, though someone should recount it to you.’”
42 And as [b]Paul and Barnabas were leaving, the people kept pleading that these words might be spoken to them the next (C)Sabbath.

40 Take care that what the prophets have said does not happen to you:
41 “‘Look, you scoffers,
wonder and perish,
for I am going to do something in your days
that you would never believe,
even if someone told you.’[a]”(A)
42 As Paul and Barnabas were leaving the synagogue,(B) the people invited them to speak further about these things on the next Sabbath.
