8 Saul became very angry,[a] and this saying displeased him,[b] and he thought, “They have attributed to David ten thousands, but to me they have attributed thousands! What more can he have but the kingdom?”[c] 9 So Saul was watching[d] David with suspicion from that day onward.
10 On[e] the next day, the evil spirit from God rushed upon Saul, and he prophesied in the middle of the house. Now David was playing the lyre with his hand on that day as usual,[f] and the spear was in Saul’s hand.

8 Saul was very angry; this refrain displeased him greatly. “They have credited David with tens of thousands,” he thought, “but me with only thousands. What more can he get but the kingdom?(A)” 9 And from that time on Saul kept a close(B) eye on David.
10 The next day an evil[a] spirit(C) from God came forcefully on Saul. He was prophesying in his house, while David was playing the lyre,(D) as he usually(E) did. Saul had a spear(F) in his hand
