1 Kings 12:17-19
New English Translation
17 (Rehoboam continued to rule over the Israelites who lived in the cities of Judah.) 18 King Rehoboam sent Adoniram,[a] the supervisor of the work crews,[b] out after them, but all Israel stoned him to death. King Rehoboam managed to jump into his chariot and escape to Jerusalem. 19 So Israel has been in rebellion against the Davidic dynasty to this very day.

New International Version
17 But as for the Israelites who were living in the towns of Judah,(A) Rehoboam still ruled over them.
18 King Rehoboam sent out Adoniram,[a](B) who was in charge of forced labor, but all Israel stoned him to death.(C) King Rehoboam, however, managed to get into his chariot and escape to Jerusalem. 19 So Israel has been in rebellion against the house of David(D) to this day.
