2 Chronicles 33:2-4

New International Version

²He did evil in the eyes of the Lord,^(A) following the detestable^(B) practices of the nations the Lord had driven out before the Israelites. ³He rebuilt the high places his father Hezekiah had demolished; he also erected altars to the Baals and made Asherah poles.^(C) He bowed down^(D) to all the starry hosts and worshiped them. ⁴He built altars in the temple of the Lord, of which the Lord had said, “My Name^(E) will remain in Jerusalem forever.”

²But he did evil in the sight of the Lord, according to the ^(A)abominations of the nations whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel. ³For he rebuilt the ^[a]high places which Hezekiah his father had ^(B)broken down; he raised up altars for the Baals, and ^(C)made wooden images; and he worshiped ^(D)all ^[b]the host of heaven and served them. ⁴He also built altars in the house of the Lord, of which the Lord had said, ^(E)“In Jerusalem shall My name be forever.”
