無用的牧人被棄
11 黎巴嫩哪！敞開你的門戶，
好讓火吞滅你的香柏樹。
2 松樹啊！哀號吧，因為香柏樹已經倒下，
雄壯的樹木都毀壞了；
巴珊的橡樹啊！哀號吧，
因為茂密的樹林被砍下來了。
3 聽牧人們哀號的聲音，
因為他們榮美的草場毀壞了；
聽少壯獅子吼叫的聲音，
因為約旦河邊的叢林毀壞了。
4 耶和華我的 神這樣說：“你要牧養這將被宰殺的羊群。 5 那些買了牠們的宰殺牠們，也不算為有罪；那些賣牠們的說：‘耶和華是應當稱頌的，因我成了富足的人。’牠們的牧人並不憐恤牠們。 6 因此我必不再憐恤這地的居民（這是耶和華的宣告）。看哪！我把他們各人交在他的鄰舍和君王的手中。他們必摧毀這地，我必不救這地的居民脫離他們的手。”
兩根杖的比喻
7 於是，我牧養這將被宰殺的羊群，就是羊群中最困苦的；我取了兩根杖，一根我稱為“恩寵”，另一根稱為“聯合”。這樣我就牧養了羊群。 8 在一個月之內我除滅了三個牧人。我的心厭煩他們，他們的心也討厭我。 9 我就說：“我不再牧養你們了；那將要死的，讓他死吧！那將要被除滅的，讓他被除滅吧；那些餘剩的，讓他們彼此吞食對方的肉吧！”
10 然後，我拿起我那根稱為“恩寵”的杖，把它折斷，表示要廢除我與萬民所立的約； 11 那約就在當日廢除了。這樣，那些仰望我的困苦羊群，就知道這是耶和華的話。 12 我對他們說：“你們若看為美，就給我工資；不然，就算了。”於是，他們稱了三十塊銀子作我的工資。
13 那時，耶和華對我說：“你要把銀子丟給陶匠。”那銀子就是他們認為我應得的高價。我就拿了那三十塊銀子，在耶和華的殿裡丟給陶匠了。
14 我又折斷那稱為“聯合”的另一根杖，表示要廢除猶大和以色列之間的手足之情。
拋棄羊群的牧人有禍了
15 耶和華又對我說：“你去取愚昧牧人的裝備來。 16 因為我要在這地興起一個牧人；那些快要喪亡的他不看顧，失散的他不尋找，受傷的他不醫治，強壯的他不餵養，他卻要吃肥羊的肉，撕掉牠們的蹄子。
17 “那丟棄羊群的無用牧人有禍了！
願刀劍落在他的膀臂和他的右眼上；
願他的膀臂全然枯槁，
願他的右眼完全失明！”

羊群必遭杀戮
11 黎巴嫩啊，打开你的门吧，
好让火焰吞噬你的香柏树。
2 松树啊，哀号吧，
因为香柏树已经倒下，
挺拔的树木已被毁坏。
巴珊的橡树啊，哀号吧，
因为茂密的树林已被砍倒。
3 听啊，牧人在哀号，
因为他们肥美的草场已被毁坏。
听啊，狮子在吼叫，
因为约旦河畔的丛林已被毁坏。
4 我的上帝耶和华说：“你去牧养这群待宰的羊吧。 5 买羊宰羊的不受惩罚，卖羊的说，‘耶和华当受称颂！我发财了。’它们的牧人不怜悯它们。 6 因此，我不再怜悯这地方的居民，我要使他们落在邻人及其君王手中，任这地方被摧毁，必不从敌人手中拯救他们。这是耶和华说的。”
7 于是，我牧养这群最困苦的待宰之羊。我拿了两根杖，一根叫“恩惠”，一根叫“联合”，开始牧养羊群。 8 我在一个月之内除掉了三个牧人。
然而，我厌烦羊群，他们也厌恶我。 9 于是我说：“我不再牧养你们了。要死的就死吧，要灭亡的就灭亡吧，让剩下的互相吞吃吧。” 10 然后，我拿起那根叫“恩惠”的杖，把它折断，以废除我与万民所立的约。 11 约就在当天废除了，那些注视着我的困苦羊便知道这是上帝的话。
12 我对他们说：“你们若认为好，就给我工钱，不然就算了。”于是，他们给了我三十块银子作工钱。 13 耶和华对我说：“把这一大笔钱丢给窑户吧，这就是我在他们眼中的价值！”我便把三十块银子丢给圣殿中的窑户。 14 我又把那根叫“联合”的杖折断，以断开犹大和以色列之间的手足之情。
15 耶和华又对我说：“你再拿起愚昧牧人的器具， 16 因为我要使一位牧人在地上兴起，他不照顾丧亡的，不寻找失散的，不医治受伤的，不牧养健壮的，反而吃肥羊的肉，撕掉它们的蹄子。
17 “丢弃羊群的无用牧人有祸了！
愿刀砍在他的臂膀和右眼上！
愿他的臂膀彻底枯槁，
他的右眼完全失明！”
Zechariah 11
The Message
11 1-4 Open your borders to the immigrants, proud Lebanon!
Your sentinel trees will burn.
Weep, great pine trees! Mourn, you sister cedars!
Your towering trees are cordwood.
Weep Bashan oak trees!
Your thick forest is now a field of stumps.
Do you hear the wailing of shepherds?
They’ve lost everything they once owned.
Do you hear the outrage of the lions?
The mighty jungle of the Jordan is wasted.
Make room for the returning exiles!
Breaking the Beautiful Covenant
4-5 God commanded me, “Shepherd the sheep that are soon to be slaughtered. The people who buy them will butcher them for quick and easy money. What’s worse, they’ll get away with it. The people who sell them will say, ‘Lucky me! God’s on my side; I’ve got it made!’ They have shepherds who couldn’t care less about them.”
6 God’s Decree: “I’m washing my hands of the people of this land. From now on they’re all on their own. It’s dog-eat-dog, survival of the fittest, and every person for themselves. Don’t look for help from me.”
7-8 So I took over from the crass, money-grubbing owners, and shepherded the sheep marked for slaughter. I got myself two shepherd staffs. I named one Lovely and the other Harmony. Then I went to work shepherding the sheep. Within a month I got rid of the corrupt shepherds. I got tired of putting up with them—and they couldn’t stand me.
9 And then I got tired of the sheep and said, “I’ve had it with you—no more shepherding from me. If you die, you die; if you’re attacked, you’re attacked. Whoever survives can eat what’s left.”
10-11 Then I took the staff named Lovely and broke it across my knee, breaking the beautiful covenant I had made with all the peoples. In one stroke, both staff and covenant were broken. The money-hungry owners saw me do it and knew God was behind it.
12 Then I addressed them: “Pay me what you think I’m worth.” They paid me an insulting sum, counting out thirty silver coins.
13 God told me, “Throw it in the poor box.” This stingy wage was all they thought of me and my work! So I took the thirty silver coins and threw them into the poor box in God’s Temple.
14 Then I broke the other staff, Harmony, across my knee, breaking the family ties between Judah and Israel.
15-16 God then said, “Dress up like a stupid shepherd. I’m going to install just such a shepherd in this land—a shepherd indifferent to victims, who ignores the lost, abandons the injured, and disdains decent citizens. He’ll only be in it for what he can get out of it, using and abusing any and all.
17 “Doom to you, useless shepherd,
walking off and leaving the sheep!
A curse on your arm!
A curse on your right eye!
Your arm will hang limp and useless.
Your right eye will go stone blind.”
