3 В ответ Иисус сказал:
– Я тоже задам вам вопрос. Скажите, 4 откуда Иоанн получил свое право крестить, с Небес или от людей?
5 Они стали совещаться между собой:
– Если мы скажем: «С Небес», то Он спросит: «Почему же вы ему не поверили?» 6 Если скажем: «От людей», то весь народ побьет нас камнями, ведь они убеждены, что Иоанн был пророком.
7 – Мы не знаем, от кого, – ответили они.
8 – Тогда и Я вам не скажу, чьей властью Я все это делаю, – сказал им Иисус.
Притча о злых виноградарях(B)
9 Он начал рассказывать народу притчу:
– Один человек посадил виноградник[a]. Он отдал его внаем виноградарям, а сам уехал в чужие края на долгое время. 10 Когда пришло время, он послал слугу к виноградарям, чтобы они дали причитающуюся ему часть урожая. Виноградари же избили слугу и отослали его с пустыми руками. 11 Он послал другого слугу, но они и этого избили, поиздевались над ним и отослали с пустыми руками. 12 Он послал третьего слугу. Они и этого изранили и выбросили из виноградника.
13 Тогда хозяин виноградника подумал: «Что же мне делать? Пошлю своего любимого сына, может, хоть его они устыдятся». 14 Когда же виноградари увидели сына, они решили: «Это наследник. Давайте убьем его, чтобы наследство стало нашим». 15 Они выбросили его из виноградника и убили. Что теперь сделает с ними хозяин виноградника? 16 Конечно же, он придет и убьет тех виноградарей, а виноградник отдаст другим.

Первый брат женился и умер бездетным. 30 Затем второй 31 и третий женились на ней, и так все семеро. И все они умерли, не оставив детей. 32 Потом умерла и женщина. 33 Итак, после воскресения, чьей женой она будет? Ведь все семеро были женаты на ней?
34 Иисус ответил им:
– Люди этого века женятся и выходят замуж. 35 Те же, кто удостоится жить в будущем веке и будет воскрешен из мертвых, не будут ни жениться, ни выходить замуж, 36 и умереть уже не смогут, но будут подобны ангелам. Они сыновья Бога, потому что участвуют в воскресении. 37 А то, что мертвые воскресают, показал Моисей в истории с терновым кустом, когда он назвал Господа «Богом Авраама, Богом Исаака и Богом Иакова». 38 Он Бог не мертвых, а живых, потому что для Него все живы!
39 Некоторые из учителей Закона сказали:

40 И больше уже никто не решался задавать Ему вопросы.
Кем является Иисус?(E)
41 Затем Иисус спросил их:
– Почему говорят, что Христос – Сын Давида? 42 Ведь сам Давид сказал в книге Псалмов:
«Сказал Господь Господу моему:
Сядь по правую руку от Меня,
43 пока Я не повергну врагов Твоих
к ногам Твоим»[f].
44 Итак, Давид называет Его Господом. Как же в таком случае Он может быть ему Сыном?
Иисус предостерегает от лицемерия(F)
45 Весь народ слушал Иисуса, а Он сказал Своим ученикам:
46 – Остерегайтесь учителей Закона. Они любят наряжаться в длинные одежды и любят, когда их приветствуют на площадях. Они сидят на самых почетных местах в синагогах и на званых обедах. 47 Они разоряют дома вдов и напоказ долго молятся. Таких ждет очень суровое наказание.

19 και εζητησαν οι γραμματεις και οι αρχιερεις επιβαλειν επ αυτον τας χειρας εν αυτη τη ωρα και εφοβηθησαν τον λαον εγνωσαν γαρ οτι προς αυτους ειπεν την παραβολην ταυτην
20 και παρατηρησαντες απεστειλαν εγκαθετους υποκρινομενους εαυτους δικαιους ειναι ινα επιλαβωνται αυτου λογου ωστε παραδουναι αυτον τη αρχη και τη εξουσια του ηγεμονος
21 και επηρωτησαν αυτον λεγοντες διδασκαλε οιδαμεν οτι ορθως λεγεις και διδασκεις και ου λαμβανεις προσωπον αλλ επ αληθειας την οδον του θεου διδασκεις
22 εξεστιν ημας καισαρι φορον δουναι η ου
23 κατανοησας δε αυτων την πανουργιαν ειπεν προς αυτους
24 δειξατε μοι δηναριον τινος εχει εικονα και επιγραφην οι δε ειπαν καισαρος
25 ο δε ειπεν προς αυτους τοινυν αποδοτε τα καισαρος καισαρι και τα του θεου τω θεω
26 και ουκ ισχυσαν επιλαβεσθαι του ρηματος εναντιον του λαου και θαυμασαντες επι τη αποκρισει αυτου εσιγησαν
27 προσελθοντες δε τινες των σαδδουκαιων οι λεγοντες αναστασιν μη ειναι επηρωτησαν αυτον
28 λεγοντες διδασκαλε μωυσης εγραψεν ημιν εαν τινος αδελφος αποθανη εχων γυναικα και ουτος ατεκνος η ινα λαβη ο αδελφος αυτου την γυναικα και εξαναστηση σπερμα τω αδελφω αυτου
29 επτα ουν αδελφοι ησαν και ο πρωτος λαβων γυναικα απεθανεν ατεκνος
30 και ο δευτερος
31 και ο τριτος ελαβεν αυτην ωσαυτως δε και οι επτα ου κατελιπον τεκνα και απεθανον
32 υστερον και η γυνη απεθανεν
33 η γυνη ουν εν τη αναστασει τινος αυτων γινεται γυνη οι γαρ επτα εσχον αυτην γυναικα
34 και ειπεν αυτοις ο ιησους οι υιοι του αιωνος τουτου γαμουσιν και γαμισκονται
35 οι δε καταξιωθεντες του αιωνος εκεινου τυχειν και της αναστασεως της εκ νεκρων ουτε γαμουσιν ουτε γαμιζονται
36 ουδε γαρ αποθανειν ετι δυνανται ισαγγελοι γαρ εισιν και υιοι εισιν θεου της αναστασεως υιοι οντες
37 οτι δε εγειρονται οι νεκροι και μωυσης εμηνυσεν επι της βατου ως λεγει κυριον τον θεον αβρααμ και θεον ισαακ και θεον ιακωβ
38 θεος δε ουκ εστιν νεκρων αλλα ζωντων παντες γαρ αυτω ζωσιν
39 αποκριθεντες δε τινες των γραμματεων ειπαν διδασκαλε καλως ειπας
40 ουκετι γαρ ετολμων επερωταν αυτον ουδεν
41 ειπεν δε προς αυτους πως λεγουσιν τον χριστον ειναι δαυιδ υιον
42 αυτος γαρ δαυιδ λεγει εν βιβλω ψαλμων ειπεν κυριος τω κυριω μου καθου εκ δεξιων μου
43 εως αν θω τους εχθρους σου υποποδιον των ποδων σου
44 δαυιδ ουν αυτον κυριον καλει και πως αυτου υιος εστιν

The Authority of Jesus Questioned(A)
20 One day as Jesus was teaching the people in the temple courts(B) and proclaiming the good news,(C) the chief priests and the teachers of the law, together with the elders, came up to him. 2 “Tell us by what authority you are doing these things,” they said. “Who gave you this authority?”(D)
3 He replied, “I will also ask you a question. Tell me: 4 John’s baptism(E)—was it from heaven, or of human origin?”
5 They discussed it among themselves and said, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask, ‘Why didn’t you believe him?’ 6 But if we say, ‘Of human origin,’ all the people(F) will stone us, because they are persuaded that John was a prophet.”(G)
7 So they answered, “We don’t know where it was from.”
8 Jesus said, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.”
The Parable of the Tenants(H)
9 He went on to tell the people this parable: “A man planted a vineyard,(I) rented it to some farmers and went away for a long time.(J) 10 At harvest time he sent a servant to the tenants so they would give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. But the tenants beat him and sent him away empty-handed. 11 He sent another servant, but that one also they beat and treated shamefully and sent away empty-handed. 12 He sent still a third, and they wounded him and threw him out.
13 “Then the owner of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my son, whom I love;(K) perhaps they will respect him.’
14 “But when the tenants saw him, they talked the matter over. ‘This is the heir,’ they said. ‘Let’s kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’ 15 So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.
“What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and kill those tenants(L) and give the vineyard to others.”
When the people heard this, they said, “God forbid!”
17 Jesus looked directly at them and asked, “Then what is the meaning of that which is written:
18 Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.”(N)
19 The teachers of the law and the chief priests looked for a way to arrest him(O) immediately, because they knew he had spoken this parable against them. But they were afraid of the people.(P)
Paying Taxes to Caesar(Q)
20 Keeping a close watch on him, they sent spies, who pretended to be sincere. They hoped to catch Jesus in something he said,(R) so that they might hand him over to the power and authority of the governor.(S) 21 So the spies questioned him: “Teacher, we know that you speak and teach what is right, and that you do not show partiality but teach the way of God in accordance with the truth.(T) 22 Is it right for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not?”
23 He saw through their duplicity and said to them, 24 “Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription are on it?”
“Caesar’s,” they replied.
25 He said to them, “Then give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s,(U) and to God what is God’s.”
26 They were unable to trap him in what he had said there in public. And astonished by his answer, they became silent.
The Resurrection and Marriage(V)
27 Some of the Sadducees,(W) who say there is no resurrection,(X) came to Jesus with a question. 28 “Teacher,” they said, “Moses wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies and leaves a wife but no children, the man must marry the widow and raise up offspring for his brother.(Y) 29 Now there were seven brothers. The first one married a woman and died childless. 30 The second 31 and then the third married her, and in the same way the seven died, leaving no children. 32 Finally, the woman died too. 33 Now then, at the resurrection whose wife will she be, since the seven were married to her?”
34 Jesus replied, “The people of this age marry and are given in marriage. 35 But those who are considered worthy of taking part in the age to come(Z) and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, 36 and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God’s children,(AA) since they are children of the resurrection. 37 But in the account of the burning bush, even Moses showed that the dead rise, for he calls the Lord ‘the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’[b](AB) 38 He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.”
39 Some of the teachers of the law responded, “Well said, teacher!” 40 And no one dared to ask him any more questions.(AC)
Whose Son Is the Messiah?(AD)
41 Then Jesus said to them, “Why is it said that the Messiah is the son of David?(AE) 42 David himself declares in the Book of Psalms:
“‘The Lord said to my Lord:
“Sit at my right hand
43 until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet.”’[c](AF)
44 David calls him ‘Lord.’ How then can he be his son?”
Warning Against the Teachers of the Law
45 While all the people were listening, Jesus said to his disciples, 46 “Beware of the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets.(AG) 47 They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. These men will be punished most severely.”

15 So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them?
16 He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.
17 And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?
18 Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
19 And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.
20 And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor.
21 And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly:
22 Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Caesar, or no?
23 But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt ye me?
24 Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Caesar's.
25 And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's.
26 And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace.
27 Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him,
28 Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man's brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
29 There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children.
30 And the second took her to wife, and he died childless.
31 And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died.
32 Last of all the woman died also.
33 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.

35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:
36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
37 Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.
38 For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.
39 Then certain of the scribes answering said, Master, thou hast well said.
40 And after that they durst not ask him any question at all.
41 And he said unto them, How say they that Christ is David's son?
