¹³ Since we have ^(A)the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, ^(B)“I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak,

⁷ so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable ^(A)riches of his grace in ^(B)kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. ⁸ For ^(C)by grace you have been saved ^(D)through faith. And this is ^(E)not your own doing; ^(F)it is the gift of God, ^9 (G)not a result of works, ^(H)so that no one may boast.

¹² in whom we have ^(A)boldness and ^(B)access with ^(C)confidence through our ^(D)faith in him.

¹⁶ yet we know that ^(A)a person is not justified^[a] by works of the law ^(B)but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, ^(C)because by works of the law no one will be justified.

By Faith

11 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of ^(A)things not seen.

⁷ By faith ^(A)Noah, being warned by God concerning ^(B)events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of ^(C)the righteousness that comes by faith.

⁸ By faith ^(D)Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place ^(E)that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. ⁹ By faith he went to live in ^(F)the land of promise, as in a foreign land, ^(G)living in tents ^(H)with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. ¹⁰ For he was looking forward to ^(I)the city that has ^(J)foundations, ^(K)whose designer and builder is God.

^16 (A)Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

⁶ But ^(A)let him ask in faith, ^(B)with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like ^(C)a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.

¹⁷ as it is written, ^(A)“I have made you the father of many nations”—in the presence of the God in whom he believed, ^(B)who gives life to the dead and calls into existence ^(C)the things that do not exist.
