Matthew 3
21st Century King James Version
3 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judea
2 and saying, “Repent ye, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”
3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make His paths straight.’”
4 And the same John had his raiment of camel’s hair, and a leather girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.
5 Then there went out to him Jerusalem and all Judea and all the region round about the Jordan.
6 And they were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins.
7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said unto them, “O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance,
9 and think not to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say unto you that God is able from these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
10 And now also the ax is laid unto the root of the trees; therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire.
11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear. He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire.
12 His fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly purge His threshing floor and gather His wheat into the garner; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
13 Then came Jesus from Galilee to the Jordan unto John to be baptized by him.
14 But John forbad Him, saying, “I have need to be baptized by Thee, and comest Thou to me?”
15 And Jesus answering said unto him, “Suffer it to be so now, for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John suffered Him.
16 And Jesus, when He had been baptized, went up straightway out of the water. And lo, the heavens were opened unto Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting upon Him.
17 And lo, a voice came from Heaven, saying, “This Is My Beloved Son, In Whom I Am Well Pleased.”
Mark 1
21st Century King James Version
1 The beginning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
2 As it is written in the Prophets: “Behold, I send My messenger before Thy face, who shall prepare Thy way before Thee.”
3 “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make His paths straight.’”
4 John baptized in the wilderness and preached the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
5 And there went out unto him all the land of Judea and those of Jerusalem; and they were all baptized by him in the River Jordan, confessing their sins.
6 And John was clothed with camel’s hair and with a girdle of a skin about his loins, and he ate locusts and wild honey.
7 And he preached, saying, “There cometh after me One mightier than I, the strap of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.
8 I indeed have baptized you with water, but He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.”
9 And it came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
10 And straightway coming up out of the water, He saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon Him.
11 And there came a voice from Heaven, saying, “Thou Art My Beloved Son, In Whom I Am Well Pleased.”
12 And immediately the Spirit drove Him into the wilderness.
13 And He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto Him.
14 Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom of God
15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent ye and believe the Gospel.”
16 Now as He walked by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea, for they were fishers.
17 And Jesus said unto them, “Come ye after Me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.”
18 And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed Him.
19 And when He had gone a little farther thence, He saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the boat mending their nets.
20 And straightway He called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, and went after Him.
21 And they went into Capernaum, and straightway on the Sabbath day He entered into the synagogue and taught.
22 And they were astonished at His doctrine, for He taught them as one who had authority, and not as the scribes.
23 And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,
24 saying, “Let us alone. What have we to do with Thee, Thou Jesus of Nazareth? Hast Thou come to destroy us? I know Thee and who Thou art — the Holy One of God!”
25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Hold thy peace, and come out of him!”
26 And when the unclean spirit had torn him and cried out with a loud voice, he came out of him.
27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What thing is this? What new doctrine is this? For with authority he commandeth even the unclean spirits, and they obey him.”
28 And immediately His fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.
29 And forthwith when they had come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
30 But Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick with a fever, and at once they told Him of her.
31 And He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.
32 And at evening, when the sun had set, they brought unto Him all who were diseased and those who were possessed with devils.
33 And all the city was gathered together at the door.
34 And He healed many who were sick with divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and He suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew Him.
35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, He went out and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
36 And Simon and those who were with Him followed after Him.
37 And when they had found Him, they said unto Him, “All men seek for Thee.”
38 And He said unto them, “Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also; for therefore came I forth.”
39 And He preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils.
40 And there came a leper to Him, beseeching Him and kneeling down to Him and saying unto Him, “If Thou wilt, Thou canst make me clean.”
41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth His hand and touched him, and said unto him, “I will; be thou clean.”
42 And as soon as He had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.
43 And He strictly charged him, and forthwith sent him away,
44 saying unto him, “See that thou say nothing to any man; but go thy way, show thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, as a testimony unto them.”
45 But he went out and began to proclaim it much and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, and was outside in desert places. And they came to Him from every quarter.
Luke 3
21st Century King James Version
3 Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene,
2 Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the Word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.
3 And he came into all the country about the Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins,
4 as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make His paths straight.
5 Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;
6 and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.’”
7 Then said he to the multitude who came forth to be baptized by him, “O generation of vipers! Who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
8 Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say among yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say unto you, that God is able from these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
9 And now also the ax is laid unto the root of the trees. Every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire.”
10 And the people asked him, saying, “What shall we do then?”
11 He answered and said unto them, “He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none. And he that hath meat, let him do likewise.”
12 Then came also publicans to be baptized, and said unto him, “Master, what shall we do?”
13 And he said unto them, “Exact no more than that which is appointed you.”
14 And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, “And what shall we do?” And he said unto them, “Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.”
15 And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts whether John was the Christ or not,
16 John answered, saying unto them all, “I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I cometh, the straps of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose. He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire.
17 His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly purge His floor and will gather the wheat into His garner; but the chaff He will burn with fire unquenchable.”
18 And with many other exhortations preached he unto the people.
19 But Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him because of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, and for all the evils which Herod had done,
20 added yet this above all, that he shut up John in prison.
21 Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass that Jesus also was baptized. And while He prayed the heaven was opened,
22 and the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from Heaven, which said, “Thou Art My Beloved Son; In Thee I Am Well Pleased.”
23 And Jesus Himself had become about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, who was the son of Heli,
