11 Likewise you also, [a]reckon yourselves to be (A)dead indeed to sin, but (B)alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

12 (C)Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. 13 And do not present your (D)members as [b]instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but (E)present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. 14 For (F)sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

From Slaves of Sin to Slaves of God

15 What then? Shall we sin (G)because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! 16 Do you not know that (H)to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? 17 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart (I)that form of doctrine to which you were [c]delivered. 18 And (J)having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. 19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness [d]for holiness.

11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin(A) but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign(B) in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness,(C) but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.(D) 14 For sin shall no longer be your master,(E) because you are not under the law,(F) but under grace.(G)

Slaves to Righteousness

15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace?(H) By no means! 16 Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey(I)—whether you are slaves to sin,(J) which leads to death,(K) or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? 17 But thanks be to God(L) that, though you used to be slaves to sin,(M) you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching(N) that has now claimed your allegiance. 18 You have been set free from sin(O) and have become slaves to righteousness.(P)

19 I am using an example from everyday life(Q) because of your human limitations. Just as you used to offer yourselves as slaves to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer yourselves as slaves to righteousness(R) leading to holiness.
