Romans 7:21-8:9
New International Version
21 So I find this law at work:(A) Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22 For in my inner being(B) I delight in God’s law;(C) 23 but I see another law at work in me, waging war(D) against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin(E) at work within me. 24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death?(F) 25 Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!(G)
So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law,(H) but in my sinful nature[a] a slave to the law of sin.(I)
Life Through the Spirit
8 Therefore, there is now no condemnation(J) for those who are in Christ Jesus,(K) 2 because through Christ Jesus(L) the law of the Spirit who gives life(M) has set you[b] free(N) from the law of sin(O) and death. 3 For what the law was powerless(P) to do because it was weakened by the flesh,[c](Q) God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh(R) to be a sin offering.[d](S) And so he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement(T) of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.(U)
5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires;(V) but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.(W) 6 The mind governed by the flesh is death,(X) but the mind governed by the Spirit is life(Y) and peace. 7 The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God;(Z) it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. 8 Those who are in the realm of the flesh(AA) cannot please God.
9 You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh(AB) but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you.(AC) And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ,(AD) they do not belong to Christ.

A Living Sacrifice
12 Therefore, I urge you,(A) brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice,(B) holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform(C) to the pattern of this world,(D) but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.(E) Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is(F)—his good, pleasing(G) and perfect will.
