Psalm 16:5-11

New King James Version

⁵O Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup;
You ^[a]maintain my lot.
⁶The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places;
Yes, I have a good inheritance.

⁷I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel;
My ^[b]heart also instructs me in the night seasons.
⁸^(A)I have set the Lord always before me;
Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.

⁹Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices;
My flesh also will ^[c]rest in hope.
¹⁰^(B)For You will not leave my soul in ^[d]Sheol,
Nor will You allow Your Holy One to ^[e]see corruption.
¹¹You will show me the ^(C)path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

⁵Lord, you alone are my portion^(A) and my cup;^(B)
    you make my lot^(C) secure.
⁶The boundary lines^(D) have fallen for me in pleasant places;
    surely I have a delightful inheritance.^(E)
⁷I will praise the Lord, who counsels me;^(F)
    even at night^(G) my heart instructs me.
⁸I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
    With him at my right hand,^(H) I will not be shaken.^(I)

⁹Therefore my heart is glad^(J) and my tongue rejoices;
    my body also will rest secure,^(K)
¹⁰because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,^(L)
    nor will you let your faithful^[a] one^(M) see decay.^(N)
¹¹You make known to me the path of life;^(O)
    you will fill me with joy in your presence,^(P)
