Psalm 40:14-17

New International Version

¹⁴ May all who want to take my life^(A)
    be put to shame and confusion;^(B)
may all who desire my ruin^(C)
    be turned back in disgrace.
¹⁵ May those who say to me, “Aha! Aha!”^(D)
    be appalled at their own shame.
¹⁶ But may all who seek you^(E)
    rejoice and be glad^(F) in you;
may those who long for your saving help always say,
    “The Lord is great!”^(G)

¹⁷ But as for me, I am poor and needy;^(H)
    may the Lord think^(I) of me.
You are my help^(J) and my deliverer;^(K)
    you are my God, do not delay.^(L)
