Psalm 31:7-13
New International Version
7 I will be glad and rejoice in your love,
for you saw my affliction(A)
and knew the anguish(B) of my soul.
8 You have not given me into the hands(C) of the enemy
but have set my feet in a spacious place.(D)
9 Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am in distress;(E)
my eyes grow weak with sorrow,(F)
my soul and body(G) with grief.
10 My life is consumed by anguish(H)
and my years by groaning;(I)
my strength fails(J) because of my affliction,[a](K)
and my bones grow weak.(L)
11 Because of all my enemies,(M)
I am the utter contempt(N) of my neighbors(O)
and an object of dread to my closest friends—
those who see me on the street flee from me.
12 I am forgotten as though I were dead;(P)
I have become like broken pottery.
13 For I hear many whispering,(Q)
“Terror on every side!”(R)
They conspire against me(S)
and plot to take my life.(T)
