New International Version

¹⁵A rod and a reprimand impart wisdom,
but a child left undisciplined disgraces its mother.^(A)

¹⁴or to governors as sent by him ^(A)to punish those who do evil and ^(B)to praise those who do good.

¹⁴or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong^(A) and to commend those who do right.^(B)
