Proverbs 18:21-23

²¹What you say can preserve life or destroy it; so you must accept the consequences of your words.

²²^(A)Find a wife and you find a good thing; it shows that the Lord is good to you.

²³When the poor speak, they have to be polite, but when the rich answer, they are rude.

²¹The tongue has the power of life and death,^(A)
and those who love it will eat its fruit.^(B)

²²He who finds a wife finds what is good^(C)
and receives favor from the Lord.^(D)

²³The poor plead for mercy,
but the rich answer harshly.
