9 Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am in distress;(C)
my eyes grow weak with sorrow,(D)
my soul and body(E) with grief.
10 My life is consumed by anguish(F)
and my years by groaning;(G)
my strength fails(H) because of my affliction,[a](I)
and my bones grow weak.(J)
11 Because of all my enemies,(K)
I am the utter contempt(L) of my neighbors(M)
and an object of dread to my closest friends—
those who see me on the street flee from me.
12 I am forgotten as though I were dead;(N)
I have become like broken pottery.
