²⁵ Israel took all these cities, and ^(A)Israel lived in all the cities of the Amorites, in Heshbon and in all her ^[a]villages. ²⁶ For Heshbon was the city of Sihon, king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab and had taken all his land out of his hand, as far as the Arnon.

³⁶ From ^(A)Aroer which is on the edge of the ^[a]Valley of Arnon and from the city which is in the ^[b]valley, even to Gilead, there was no city that was too ^[c]high for us; the Lord our God turned it all over ^[d]to us.
