The mountains quake(A) before him
    and the hills melt away.(B)
The earth trembles(C) at his presence,
    the world and all who live in it.(D)
Who can withstand(E) his indignation?
    Who can endure(F) his fierce anger?(G)
His wrath is poured out like fire;(H)
    the rocks are shattered(I) before him.

The Lord is good,(J)
    a refuge in times of trouble.(K)
He cares for(L) those who trust in him,(M)
    but with an overwhelming flood(N)
he will make an end of Nineveh;
    he will pursue his foes into the realm of darkness.

Whatever they plot(O) against the Lord
    he will bring[a] to an end;
    trouble will not come a second time.
10 They will be entangled among thorns(P)
    and drunk(Q) from their wine;
    they will be consumed like dry stubble.[b](R)
